PHARE ESS Žmogiškųjų išteklių plėtros fondo Utenos apskrities tiksliniam regionui projektas "TRADICINIŲ AMATŲ ARTELĖ" Zarasų rajone — tai siekimas: išsaugoti audimo, medžio drožybos tradicijas, peterburgskų armonikų paveldą, jas restauruojant įr gaminant dumples. Skiautinių, lėlių siuvimas - tiek kūrybai iisgrožiui, tiek ir galimybei įsilieti | verslą, rūbų siuvimas ir dekoravimas Dusetose — kelias jaunoms dizainerėms į kūrybą ir žinojimą.

,,Tradicinių amatų artelė" dirba pasiskirsčiusi cechais: Zarasuose, kultūros rūmų patalpose - tradicinio audimo, lėlių ir skiautinių siuvimo, juostų pynimo ir vijimo, armonikų dumplių gamybos cechas, Drožybos ir medinių namų apyvokos daiktų cechas pasiskirstęs Degučių ir Zaduojbs kaimuose. Dusetų K. Bugos vid. mokyklos patalpose dirba tradicinio audimo, rūbų siuvimo ir dekoravimo bei skiautinių siuvimo cechas.

Mokytis jau priimta 37 įvairaus amžiaus žmonės, panorėję išmokti siūlomo amato, galbūt toliau juo verstis kaip pragyvenimo šaltiniu, galbūt išmokti susikurti sau grožį.

Projektas vykdomas nuo 2002 m. spalio iki 2003 m. rugsėjo mėn. Audėjos, rūbų kūrėjos mokysis ilgiausiai — 8 mėn. Peterburgskų armonikų restauruotojai ir dumplių gamintojai mokysis 7 mėn., skiautinių ir lėlių siuvė-jos — 6 mėn., drožejai, medinių namų apyvokos daiktų meistrai ir juostų pynėjos — 3 mėn.

Tikime, kad besimokantys nenusrvils, išmoks ir pamėgs amatą, jį pratęs, vėliau perduodami savo vaikams, kitiems žmonėms.

Projekto partneriai -VĮ Zarasų rajono turizmo informacinis centras reklamuos projekto eigą, įtrauks į informacinius šaltiniuSr Žemės ūkio mokykla konsultuos ir padės surengti amatų dienas.

A project of Human Resources Development Fund of PHARE ECC "Workshop of Traditional Handicrafts" (Tradicinių amatų artelė) for Utena Region embodies itself in Zarasai district as the pursuit of the following aims: preservation of texturing and wood-carving traditions, upholding the heritage of restoration of "Pe-terburgskos" (St. Peters-burg-deriving) harmonies and manufacturing bellows for them. Sewing rag dolls and patchworks serves for pleasure, beauty creation and making business. Classes of wear sewing and decorating offered in Dusetos is a way for young designer-girls to obtain the skills and nurture their creativity.

The "Workshop of Traditional Handicrafts" has been split to separate guilds. In Zarasai Cultural Center there is the guild of traditional texturing, sewing dolls and patchworks, weaving and winding strips, and manufacturing bellows for hannonies. The guild of carving and manufacturing wooden household utensils is distributed m villages of Degučiai and Zaduoja. In the school of K. Būga of Dusetos there is the guild of traditional texturing, sewing patchworks as well as se'wing and decorating the wear.

The project "Workshop of Traditional Handicrafts" is run by the society "Sėla" of Zarasai district whose intention is to uphold the cultural heritage of the an-cient sėliai tribe once dominant in this locality.

The project has already involved 37 various-aged leamers that wish to master the craft taught and maybe intend to make it the income source or a possible way to create the beauty for themselves.

Project duration is between October 2002 and September 2003. The classes for weavers and wear designers will take longest -as much as 8 months. Those for restorers of "Peterburgskos" (St. Petersburg-deriving) harmonies and their bellow-makers will take 7 months. Classes of sewing dolls and patchworks will take 6 months; masters of wooden household utensils and strip weavers will train for 3 months.

We believe that the leamers will not be disappointed by the classes, will successfully master their chosen handicrafts and come to love them, and will someday hand them over to their offsprings and other people.

A partner of the project — the Tourism Information Center of Zarasai district -will advertise the progress of the project in informational booklets. Another partner — Agriculture school — will provide consultations and assist in organizing handicraft feasts.

We do believe that, in doing this, we will beautify our land, will be interesting for those visiting it, ant happy ourselves as creators of beauty and upholders of our national traditions.
