~~ THE DECO ROOM ~~

Under Construction !

This room was oginally a 4th bedroom in our house. It had a huge walk in closet and a saufet(not sure if i'm spelling that correctly) that hung down from the ceiling which enclosed the duct work. When you wlaked into the room it felt real small 1st because of the low ceiling right there at the door and 2nd the closet that I didn't want. So my project began, I decided to tear out the walk in closet and reroute the duct work to get it over against the wall and box it in for just what was there. Now when you walk into the room it feels much larger being 2 feet bigger and no low ceiling at the door way. I also wanted to put a ceiling fan in and this allowed my better access to the center of the room to mount the box and electrical for it. I also as you can see had to move the doorway out 2 feet and I put a bigger door in. In the process I wanted to put more lighting in the room especially some Art Deco lighting. This was pretty easy to do with a router or a rotozip, just cut a slot through the drywall and run the wire. I actually drilled holes in the top of the outlet electrical boxes to allow the wire access, these were different boxes then I'm used to and they didn't have any access holes you could punch out. I also plan on more Deco look to the room with a checked board floor and more Deco lighting, posters from 30's 40's and music legends through out time mixed with some old Coca Cola trays etc. The worst part is going to be matching up the pattern on the ceiling but I will figure out a way and sanding all this mess!
