About the NAHS

    Welcome to Sanderson High School's chapter of the National Art Honors Society! For those of you who are familiar with Sanderson's former Art Club, the NAHS is simply a more committed and focused art organization. According to the NAHS Chapter Application Handbook, "The NAHS strives to aid members in working toward the attainment of the highest standards in art areas, and to bring art education to the attention of the school and community." Sanderson's chapter of the NAHS is involved in local art exhibits and art-related service projects, and we meet every other week to work on projects and enjoy each others' company. Here are some further details:

Member Eligibility 

-- Must have taken at least one Art Course, and maintain at least a "B" average over all art courses taken.
-- Must be in the 10th, 11th, or 12th grade.

Membership Requirements

-- Paying dues of $10 by the end of first quarter each school year.
-- 10 hours of Art Community Service each semester.
-- Submission of artwork for Show, Display, or Competition twice each semester.
-- Attends meetings every other Wednesday regularly, with no more than 3 unexcused absences.
-- Must sell at least five Art Calendars!

Activities

-- There are several show and hours opportunities including: the Colony Theatre show, a themed cash prize ECU show(see exhibits tab for link), and art for the school psycholgist's office.
-- Shirt designs are being finalized for printing.
