Art Club 2000 is a Club administered on a voluntary basis. It was founded officially on the 17th March, 2000 and its primary endeavor is to keep the following principles:
- To Teach
- To Learn
- To Educate
- To Promote
The Club took off offering three different courses to which approximately 30 students attended. Today the Club offers 19 different courses and caters for over 180 persons between Students and Artist Members. It is estimated that within this period over 1,500 students have benefited from the Club's tuition.
A lot has been done, but there is still a lot to do. The Club offers different Art and Crafts exhibitions throughout the year thus giving the opportunity to mostly non established Artists and Craftsmen to share their capabilities with visitors and giving the opportunity to visitors to refine their artistic eyes and educate them further in the appreciation of artistic works.
We also experimented overseas, our President, Mr. Twanny Darmanin, exhibited his works in Germany and a delegation from the Club Committee joined Mr. Darmanin where we organised a meeting with a similar Club in Germany namely 'Eifel Art' who described our work as "a very ambitious attempt". Considering the vastness of the subject, today we realise what they meant, because what ever we do and how much we do there is still a lot to be done.
