Arnett-Fullen House

News from the Arnett-Fullen House

Slate poem

Dylan and Kate are wild about slate.
Since the first piece in the garden was found, they have ordered 2500 pounds
from the same valley in Vermont, where King filled his want.
The colors are true: red, green, black, not blue.
In the year 1877 the tower was here...
in 2007 it regains its grandeur.

Poem written by Dylan and Kate and inscribed on the back of one of the pieces of slate

More slate poems

Four slate poems from Howard, Ursula and Catriona:

Was 6-4-6 considered first rate?

Not so, thought Dylan and Kate,

To change these affairs,

They climbed the stairs,

And restored it with New England slate

Dylan, and his fair lass Kate,

Owned a house considered ornate,

With Dylan’s power,

They re-covered the tower,

With some thousand pounds of slate.

Let us tell you of Dylan and Kate

Who purchased Will’s house of late

Using their ropes

They restored the tower slopes

With a blazen helmet of slate.

Fair Dylan and beautiful Kate,

Ordered hundreds of pounds of slate

They refurbished the tower

Taking many an hour

“Amazing”, said Kate to her mate.

Two more from Howard up late at night:

Where’s the plate?

complaineth Kate,

I think it’s stolen.

Will? muses Dylan.

Dominique and Willamette,

Quite a scene, I’ll bet.

Passport’s flown

She’s heard to groan

And now they say

She won’t stay

Unless Will’s mood

Is more subdued.

Arnett-Fullen,

fixed by Dylan.

Made great

by Kate:

inside out

and all about.

The tower tile,

hung in style.

That slate won’t fall!

No, not at all.

It’s up forever -

what an endeavor

Kate's Dens-Deck song:

Dens-Deck you are perfect

for my roofing job in the sun.

Dens-Deck when the inspec-

comes he says you are the one.

Dens-Deck I gladly make the trek

    to Denver to get some.

Dens-Deck on my roof deck

means my roofing job is almost done!
