Parrotlets are fairly easy to sex.

Looking at the picture above, you can determine that the Green Parrotlet is a male because he has blue behind his eyes, and cobalt blue underneath his wings.
And below is a picture of a female: (notice no cobalt blue behind the eyes or beneath the wings.)

In different color mutations, males will always have the cobalt (dark) blue coloring behind the eyes and underneath the wings.
