* ADOPTION DAY *

Saving the World, One Pet at a Time - Ohio Chapter is having their second adoption day November 13th at PetMart on State Street in Westerville.  It will go from 11 am to 1 pm.  I will be selling Home Interior Candles (for $8.00/each) and homemade dog treats. Please come support us!!

Please attend Mingle with Our Mutts at the Franklin County Animal Shelter.  Come and find the pet that you've always wanted.  Many rescues and shelters attend and can help you find what you're looking for!! Saving the World, One Pet at a Time will be attending November 21st!!

Thank you to everyone who supported me last night.  The fundraiser was a blast and we raised $261!!  Thanks to Devin Dame for setting it up and to Pam, the owner, for letting us have it at Up On Main.

Who We Are:

Saving the World, One Pet at a Time is a private rescue with headquarters located in Minnesota.  We also have a branch in Indiana and Ohio.  We are a private rescue and all work out of our homes. SWOPT pulls animals from high kill shelters and bad situations and finds them forever homes. We believe that the animals should be part of the family so they stay in our homes till they find their forever home.  All the rescues get neutered/spayed, are up to date on shots, and have a microchip that will remain in my name. We do not believe in an adoptable animal running out of time.  They will remain with us until they find a home or go to another rescue (if appropriate).  The Ohio Chapter only rescues dogs for the time being.

Adopting From Us:

If you seriously want to adopt animal from us, you must be ready to go through an extensive adoption process.  First, you must submit a vet reference letter to me via email or through the mail.  After checking out the vet reference (and I will call the vet), I will email or mail you an adoption application.  This must be completely filled out and returned to me before we can proceed with the process.  If your application is approved, I come and do a home visit.  During a home visit, I check out the yard, the house, and where all the animals are kept or will be kept.  If everything goes well, then you and your family will come over and visit the animal to make sure everyone gets along.  An adoption fee will apply.  There will be a final vet visit to implant the microchip.  I will then deliver the dog to do a final home check, the adoption contract will be signed and the dog is yours!

There is a reason for such a thorough process.  I want to make sure that I make the best possible matches for the dogs that I do have.  I do not want them returned for a reason that could have been prevented.  I want to keep these dogs in forever homes.  It's very traumatic for a dog to be moved around a lot.  I want to find them the best possible forever homes for them. The dogs are to be your furkids forever.

I also do not do surprises.  If you want to give a dog as a present, I recommend giving them a leash with a note attached saying that they can go pick out their future furkid.  They can come see what I have and if it's not a perfect match, I can help locate the perfect one for them.
