ARRL Emergency Communications Courses
The ARRL offers Amateur Radio Emergency Communications correspondence courses online for a fee. By 2007, the Level 1 course (EC-001) will be required of all ARES volunteers responding to the scene of a declared disaster.

FEMA Independent Study Courses Become certified in Federal Emergency Management Agency Independent Study Courses (it's free). Prepare for the upcoming Dept. of Homeland Security mandate requiring all first responders, including ARES volunteers, to complete training in the National Incident Management System (NIMS). |
