Ladies Circle Fundraising Locally, Nationally, Internationally
Locally
Most Ladies Circles raise money locally or alternatively volunteer to help the community in some way , for eample delivering library books to the housebound or with events or other charities.
As well as each Circle fundraising for its own chosen charities, as an Area we try to raise money or support the Area Chairman's charities and in the past we have donated £1000s to some fantastic causes such as MIND, Riding for The Disabled, Get Kids Going, The Calderdale Intensive Care Unit & Breakthrough Breast Cancer and in 2003/04 we also did Something Amazing - gave blood and encouraged others to do so.
Nationally
We support the National Charity of Ladies Circle - Cancer Research UK by fundraising but also providing volunteers to marshall and help at Race for Life events across the country.
In addition we usually support the National President's Charity. Last year Ladies Circle as a whole raised over £18,000 for Childline and this year's National President, Lynda Wieland is supporting Retts.
Internationally
Ladies Circle is an International organisation and we support an International Project which for 2007-2009 is SARIS - Sanitation at Rural Indian Schools and the aim is to provide 100 toilet blocks @ £500 each to schools across India to ensure girls in particular stay on at school and do not leave because of a lack of toilet facilities. Internationally we are well on our way to achieving the target and Area 3 are proud to have raised enough money so far for 3 Toilet Blocks.
As well as this Area 3's very own T (Tracey Wilkinson) as Immediate Past International President is raising money for her own toilet block through the sale of her delicious jams & pickles!

Area Fundraising 2007/08
Last year in addition to raising enough money for 3 Toilet Blocks for rural Schools in Inida, Area 3 supported The Laura Crane Trust (a Huddersfield based Teenage Cancer charity) raising over £7,000 (through raffles, taking 6 tables at their Ball, selling programmes at Leeds Rhinos and 44 people taking part in the 3 Peaks Challenge) and helping to raise their profile.
