About Me

My name is Samuel Saidel Goley and I am the owner/founder of Archery East. I have been shooting the bow and arrow for over ten years now. I currently shoot a Hoyt AeroTec recurve bow with FX limbs, Quest-X sight, Beiter stabilizer, Easton V-bar and side rods, and Easton ACC arrows. I originally started shooting as a recreational activity with The New England School of Archery at the age of six. I always loved archery and the challenge it provided but it was around the age of twelve that I started taking archery seriously. (Well, I guess I can't really say that. I always took my shooting seriously but it was around this time that I began competing in archery tournaments). I was encouraged by Marcia Wyman (level 4 archery instructor and the owner/director of The New England School of Archery) and Harry Steever (a ex-marine, Vietnam veteran, quadruple purple heart recipient and archery coach) to enter an archery tournament and, before I knew it, I was off to the JOAD Indoor Nationals. It was the first tournament I had ever been in! I didn't shoot too bad......Ok, I guess I shot pretty bad but I did have a great time and I knew I wanted to come back and do better next time. So, with a lot of time and practice, I did just that. Over the last year I have placed 1st in my division for New England at the JOAD Indoor Nationals and 4th nationally for the same event, 9th nationally at the NAA Indoor Championships, 10th at the 2004 Jr. World Outdoor Team Trials as well as being alternate on the 2005 Jr. World Team to Denmark. In addition to this, I have also won and placed at many smaller local and state events and am the New Hampshire State champion, both indoors and outdoors, two times running.

NADA Instructor

In the spring of 2003, at the age of fifteen, I took my Level 1 Instructor Certification Class and became a certified NAA instructor. Shortly after, I joined NADA (The National Alliance for the Development of Archery ) and began teaching with The New England School of Archery.

During the Summer of 2004, Archery East JOAD was founded by me with the much appreciated help of my friends and family.
Thank you all very much.......

Samuel
