United made a promising start through Ross McLean and Ryan Plomer reaching 20 in the seventh over before Plomer was trapped lbw by Lauder who however then quickly claimed the wicket of Bryce Carnegie. McLean (20 from 40 balls) and Jack Plomer added 22 before a wicket fell in three successive overs to leave United on 58 for 5 in the 17th over with Lauder taking 4 for 35. David Bridges (36 from 78 balls) remained unbeaten but only Fraser Anderson (13 from 8 balls) of the other batsmen reached double figures as United were dismissed in the 39th over for 129 with Zahid Imran taking 3 for 16. After a delay of 54 minutes it was decided to start the Rossie Priory innings in the rain. United had early success when Bruce Stephens was run out in the sixth over with the total on 17. There then followed a period of inactivity as Rossie reached 25 after 15 overs. United claimed a further two wickets when Andrew Caddick was caught by Gavin Swan from Michael Elliott’s bowling and in the following over Carnegie had Devlin caught by Ross McLean to leave the total on 38 for 3 in the 19th over. Raymond Lynch was joined by Andrew Lynch (19 from 44 balls) and as the rain became heavier the bowlers found difficulty with the wet conditions and the batsmen took full advantage to add 60 before Andrew Lynch was bowled by Jack Plomer in the 31st over. Raymond Lynch (unbeaten 69 from 91 balls, 4 fours) was joined by Peter Stewart and they took Rossie Priory to a six wicket victory with 9.4 overs remaining.
