The German dance-pop duo Modern Talking was formed in Berlin in early 1983 by Dieter Bohlen, then a composer and producer employed by the Intersong label; teaming with vocalist Thomas Anders, they soon began work on their first single, 1984's "You're My Heart, You're My Soul." Modern Talking's debut LP, succinctly titled The First Album, followed a year later on the heels of their second single, "You Can Win If You Want; " the duo's sophomore effort, Let's Talk About Love, appeared in late 1985, launching the smash "Cheri Cheri Lady." With 1986's Ready for Romance, Modern Talking scored their biggest hit with "Brother Louie; " however, after 1986's In the Middle of Nowhere tensions between Bohlen and Anders reached their boiling point, and following the release of their fifth LP, Romantic Warriors, Bohlen assembled a new project, Blue System. The final Modern Talking album, In the Garden of Venus, appeared posthumously at the end of 1987, after which Anders mounted a solo career. In 1998 he and Bohlen reunited for a new Modern Talking album, Back for Good.

An unbelievable story of success |

Everybody who has followed the career of Modern Talking also knows the unbelievable story of Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen. Founded in 1984, the duo had their first hit with the song "You're my heart, you're my soul". They straight went to the top position in 35 countries. When they separated three years later, they could look back at more than 60 million sold albums. But the insanity still continued. Their comeback in 1998 showed, where Modern Talking belongs: to the top of the charts.
Modern Talking presents their latest album "Year of the dragon" it in the ancient tradition of the Chinese chronology. While the western hemisphere counts the days of the new millennium, Asia celebrates the change to the year of the dragon not until February. Punctual to February 26th, Modern Talking presents their ninth album "2000 - Year of the dragon"

The birth of Modern Talking
Thomas Anders and Dieter Bohlen met in 1982. At HANSAs´ request (now BMG, Berlin) Thomas Anders recorded the German version of "Pick Up The Phone" (F.R. David's follow-up-Hit of "Words") in a recording studio in Hamburg. The Producer of the song "Was macht das schon" was Dieter Bohlen. Several German productions followed. For example, "Wovon träumst du denn?" peaked at position 16 in the German "Schlager-charts".
However, the great breakthrough came when both released their first English song. "You're my heart, you're my soul" which immediately reached the number one position in the German single-charts and remained there for 6 weeks. Modern Talking was born and at that time nobody knew, which direction their careers would be headed in the future.
"Your're my heart, your're my soul"
When Modern Talking performed in TV-shows like "Formel 1" and "Drehscheibe" their success rose. Record sales soared! In fact, it was quite normal that they'd sell more than 40,000 singles every day. After their huge success in the German-speaking countries, Modern Talking released the song in Europe and even in the Asian countries.
With "You're my heart, you're my soul", all together they had a number 1 hit in the single-charts in 35 countries all over the world.
You can win if you want
Soon their second number 1 hit "You can win if you want" followed. The song showed that Modern Talking was not a One-Hit-Wonder like many other bands. Several number one hits like "Cheri, Cheri Lady", "Brother Louie" and "Atlantis is calling" followed. The single "Brother Louie" achieved gold status in Canada. We still remember chart breakers like "Geronimo's´ Cadillac", "In 100 years" and "Give me peace on earth". The world seemed to be open for Modern Talking

 You’ve probably all followed “TV Total” in the last few weeks. From a pool of real vocal talent, Stefan Raab and super judges Joy Flemming, the grand prix expert, and pop expert Thomas Anders are searching for the “super grand prix star”.
The contestants perform with the Stefan Raab house band before the panel of tough judges who have selected the songs.
Only really great singers will move!
The exact schedule is: January 9th, 15th, 22nd , 29th and February 5th, 12th and 19th (all Thursdays!).

Fan club party 2003 bursts at the seams!

 The doubling of attendance at the January 3rd, 2004 fan club party at the Residenz Club Koblenz in the wake of the break-up of Modern Talking was a special signal and great sign to Thomas.
“It exceeded the expectations of all our previous parties.” Thomas, Guido and the fans agree. Though space was a little snug in the former movie house, everyone involved had a blast.
Besides “close” professional photos with Thomas, singing performances, IG t-shirts, drawings and prizes (including appearances in the video production of the second single “King of Love”), there was a tremendous exchange of information between fans.

It is a wonderful mid-tempo number, which reflects both his musical future and his Modern Talking roots. Thomas has produced a really superb video for "Independent Girl", which you will be able to view shortly!
Another highlight of the maxi CD is the bonus track "In your Eyes", written by Thomas. This luminous ballad was created in collaboration with Peter Ries (famed No Angles producer) and is guaranteed to give you goose bumps.

The temporary injunction against the first printing of Dieter Bolen’s book “HDK” remains in force. It was confirmed by the by the Berlin district court on October 28th, 2003. The district court firmly rejected the appeal from Random House publishing.
Furthermore, Thomas Anders has brought libel and defamation charges against his former partner.

 On September 6th 2003, Russia’s most popular German music giants Thomas Anders and the Scorpions will present a symbiosis of rock, pop and classical music with the support of the Russian Federation’s Presidential Orchestra.

Thomas Anders is scheduled to perform alongside other noteworthy politicians and celebrities.
