What can one say about these courses that can impress upon you the magnitude of the experience, there is no way to convey the comraderie, the bonding of brothers & sisters into one magickal engine. The personal work connections with each step taken, literally. The sense of fun and the discipline and honing of skills known and also previously unacknowledged or unknown. David excels at facilitating you in your search for your own way of spirit, sometimes gently, and yes sometimes by giving you a good shake, but I can guarantee the experience and bonds made during the course will stay with you throughout your life. The steps taken willingly will never again allow you to view magick in the same way, as new vistas and avenues will spill open before you.
Personally I am not rich and in the past have had to miss courses due to lack of funds, but being one of those privileged and honoured to attend the pilot course David held in Ireland, I will always now try to attend any course he holds as the value of the learning and the experience is beyond compare. I've been moving within magical circles for 20 odd years now and have attended courses here and there, don't get me wrong they have been great and well appreciated, but David's courses are on a totally different par. Its like comparing, a cup of cold tea to the best ever aged malt whiskey, and even though you may not drink whiskey you can still appreciate it!!!!

The course instruction will be given by David Rietti, a Magician of more than 40 years experience. Though best known as a ceremonialist, Rietti’s magical practise has a much broader scope than this concept usually implies and neither does he suffer from or condone the snobbery and inverse snobbery, not to say downright mutual ignorance and suspicion that divides far too many and too much of the magical/pagan/esoteric community, on the contrary, Rietti, has spent decades working with natural magic which he rightly and proudly proclaims as his heritage. It is Rietti's contention that the splits first between High and Folk Magic in the Middle ages and then between High Angelic/Demonic Magic on the one hand and High Natural Magic, which evolved into the modern Sciences, on the other in the Early Modern Period worked to the detriment of Magic as a whole. This course is a small contribution to correcting the above named divisions
Rietti has the reputation as a teacher of being both skilled and a disciplinarian, though always fair and concerned for the success of his pupils. He is currently writing a book on the Magical Arts based on his experience. His aim with the course is to make the participants more efficient in THEIR way, rather than determine that way for them.
The Course Program
The aim of the course is to introduce the participants to an appropriate and efficient set of procedures with which to draw Power and assistance from the various entities of the natural and everyday realm. These include Elementals, Plant and Mineral Spirits, the Fairy, Spirits of Place and of Trade, Totemic Animal Spirits, and Ancestral Spirits. The course whilst not at "beginner" level assumes no particular level of expertise on the part of the participants, only an open mind and the will to learn.
The course will involve both theoretical and practical activity; participants will be treated as adults and are expected to question and to think for themselves.
A detailed program for the course will be issued on arrival.
This course is non denominational and whilst no detailed prior knowledge is expected on any specific point, the course is not designed at ‘beginner level’. Nor is it a ‘passive’ learning presentation and requires active and committed participation by those who attend.
The course work includes the sharing of all chores (Cooking is not included in this as we have hired a chef).
Clothing & Footwear whilst on the course:
You should aim to bring the clothing most traditional to your path/heritage/locality. People are advised to bring warm clothes and waterproofs, as there will be quite a bit of outdoor work throughout the course. Remember also that the course is taking place in Donegal in April (The weather at this time of year is unpredictable at best). Wear something you feel comfortable wearing and which sets you apart from your everyday existence, that is, dress for the occasion.
Tools, weapons and equipment:
As with clothing, people may bring whatever equipment is most traditional to them. If you feel more "magical" with something long and rigid in your hand or feel more secure with a sharp blade by your side, then so be it.

If you prefer to work "sky clad" that is acceptable also (but we are talking Donegal in October),if you work a Northern Mysteries or Celtic/Druidic tradition dress accordingly, if you consider yourself a shaman wear your animal skins, if you work in some yogic or tantric tradition you may wear what you would wear for that, if you are a transvestite wear your best frock if you are a bloke or a dinner jacket suit if your a woman, if you are on the BDSM scene wear what suits your status if you wish, or if a full patch member of an MC club a wear leathers and your patch if that’s your thing The point is wear something you feel comfortable wearing and which sets you apart from your everyday existence, that is, dress for the occasion.
Footwear:
whatever you feel comfortable wearing, bare feet, motorcycle boots, sandals or 7" heels, as long as you are stable both standing and in motion and don't risk anyone else’s toes or damaging the floor of the locality (if you do, you pay for it!)
