Greetings, wanderers! Welcome to the network!
You've just found your way into Apples Not Included, a Pokemon fanfiction network of the most unusual sort. Here you'll find three different stories- the haphazard Tales of Flame, the whimsical Hoenn Chronicles, and the enigmatic Anomaly. You'll also find several spin-off stories, fan art and fictions, and profiles of the characters and the authors who bring them to life. We'll also have little bonuses like a few well-sung parodies, links to other interesting stories, and a message board system so everyone can chat. Aren't communications grand?
So, why Pokemon? Well, the reasons differ from author to authoress in this little group, but we all agree on one thing- the series can be handled far better than 4Kids did it. In fact, the general opinion here is that the original anime itself falls short of it's true potential, so we three have each put our own spin on things in an effort to liven it up a bit. While these spins aren't always as mature as they could be- most readers still cannot hear the word 'cake' without giggling- we do try our best to make our stories as lively as we possibly can, and we take great pleasure in being able to share them with all of you.
Now, as I said, not one of us here thinks 4Kids did the job properly, and our stories aren't exactly kosher to their standards. For one thing, they are typically a lot more violent. But they're also far more intelligent than your little brother's Pokemon... at least most of the time. Anyone who remembers the hula skirt incident might just claim otherwise. Likewise, the words 'oran berry wine' might spark a few memories in a few of our regular readers that they'd rather forget. Still, we tend to approach the series with a lot more depth than any cut-and-paste dub ever could, and we're quite pleased with our work. We hope all of you are, too.
