Door Prizes

Door prizes will be given out every thirty minutes during the grand opening celebration for the Apothecary.  All prizes are provided by the Apothecary.  You must be present to win the door prize.  ((Door prizes will be determined by a roll of 1dx, where x is the number of people currently in the room.  My room list will be done in order of arrival, not alphabetical.))

Prize 1, won by Alexandra Skye at 7:30 pm - 2 ounce packages of each of the following herbs:
 -
Chamomile, used to treat upset stomachs, women's cramps, and to calm.
 - Lavender,
calming herb, whose scent and taste alike can help relieve tension and anxiety, and is especially used as a sedative
 - Peppermint, used to calm the stomach, freshen breath, and energize.
 - Rosemary, used to relieve cold symptoms, digestion troubles, and to help perk a person out of a poor, or depressed, mood
 - Sage, used to treat mouth sores, sore throats, and as part of a compress on cuts and wounds


Prize 2, won by Sophia Janvier at 8:00 pm - 1 small healing kit, containing:
 - Eye wash (goldenseal)
 - Blessed thistle
 - Headache herbs (lavender, lemon balm, and skullcap)
 - Stomach soothing blend of herbs (chamomile, peppermint, catnip, hops, and stevia)
 - Small scissors
 - 24' long x 4" wide roll of gauze
 - Three fine silver needles
 - Silk thread
 - Small vial of pain reliever (tincture of Valerian)


Prize 3, won by Holiday Journey at 8:30 pm - 4 jars of specially formulated salve:
 -
Bruise Salve - Made primarily with arnica, comfrey, and hyssop. It will hasten the healing of bruises and help reduce tenderness and swelling in the affected area.
 -
Burn Salve - Contains comfrey, lobelia, honey, wheat germ oil, and aloe to help moisturize and protect a burned area. Burns from the sun, from heat sources (such as fire), and magical fire all respond to this salve.
 - Joint Relief Salve - Formulated to help treat aching joints and muscles, this salve contains wintergreen oil, black cohosh, almond oil, and menthol.
 - Muscle Cramp Salve - For the relief of cramping muscles, this salve is made from crampbark, lobelia oil, wintergreen oil, and thyme.

Prize 4, won by Constance Hawkley at 9:00 pm

Prize 5, won by Constance Hawkley at 9:30 pm - 6 50-milliliter bottles of essential oils and 2 16 oz bottles of carrier oils:
 -
Cinnamon - Use as an antiseptic for colds and viral infections
 -
Eucalyptus - Use for respiratory ailments, feverish conditions, the flu, and skin problems such as burns, ulcers, and wounds
 - Ginger - Use for arthritis or rheumatism. Can also be used to "warm" the body when added to a massage oil.
 - Lavender - Use primarily for healing burns, sunburns, and some infected wounds. Can also be used for headaches by inhalation and applying to the temples.
 - Peppermint - Use for nausea and stomach aches, vomiting in pregnancy, and cramps. Can also be used to stimulate the nervous system and calm the mind.
 
- Rosewood - Use as a stress reliever and for its tonic benefits for the central nervous system. Can also be used as an effective acne spot treatment.
 
- Hemp Seed Oil - Carrier oil especially good for use on dry, chapped, discolored, flaky, sun damaged and burned skin
 
- Wheat Germ Oil - Carrier oil especially good for use on mature skin, wrinkles, sun damage, dark spots, eczema, psoriasis, premature aging, and stretch marks.
