Various types of thermometer both traditional and digital.

Movement Sensors.

Electronic Trip Wire.

Infra-Red Motion Sensor cameras.

Digital Camcorders with Nightshot.

Voice Recorders.

Hidden Microphones.

Notepads pens and pencils.

Electro Magnetic Field Detectors

These detectors omit sounds and visibly register electro magnetic (EM) fields in the vicinity. Of course it must be remembered that ordinary everyday electrical items are liable to set the detectors off.

Pencils and Notepads, lots of them, as every detail no matter how small, has to be documented.

Fine sand or flour - these are handy for spreading on the floor where a spirit is supposed to be, as the imprints of footprints left in the sand/flour can be compared with the teams footprints. Of course if no one's prints match, then they may belong to a spirit/ghost.

Fine String or Thread & Sellotape

Used between door and doorframe. When on your rounds, if the thread has been disturbed then you know the door has been opened.

SO WHAT ARE SPIRITS?

There are different types of spirits, and with your permission I will concentrate on the main, or should I say, best known, ones.

RESIDUAL ENERGY

Different spiritualists have different explanations of what residual energy actually is. Some people say it is the energy (feeling) that draws a medium to where a spirit is or has recently been. Some others say it is nature "playing back time", in other words, a spirit doing the same thing at the same time day after day, night after night. These are sometimes called ignorant ghosts, as they don't acknowledge anyone, ever.

INTERACTIVE SPIRITS

These spirits are the ones you will become familiar with. They are spirits who will communicate in whatever way they want, with whomever they wish, and when they want or need to.

Some of these spirits, for whatever reason, are earthbound. Some typical reasons being that they just don't want to leave this Earth, or they may be frightened to cross over. Or they may have unfinished business to take care of before they go.

Most of these spirits are friendly and mean us no deliberate harm.

Another type of Interactive Spirit is the Visiting Spirit. My Spirit Guide Ayshea is a Visiting Spirit, who helps me when I ask for her assistance.

There are numerous reasons why a spirit visits a place or person and the only way to know the reason is to ask the spirit.

Then of course comes the Poltergeist. These spirits normally appear at times of great stress and they can be very frightening. This type of Spirit should be left to the experts to deal with

ORB / SPHERE / MIST

These are not normally visible to the naked eye and usually turn up in the camera viewfinder just before the spirit manifests.

VORTEX

The doorway a Spirit uses to enter and leave the physical world.
