UP-AD-O Threw up some advertisements. Not quite certain how that works scanslation ethics-wise, but I want to be able to afford keeping the site going after I'm broke and graduated and I feel like it's better than asking for donations or something, especially since I'm not even the one hosting anything really... (Thanks so much to Moogy and Surrarin once again for that!!) So hope they're not too bothersome, and speaking of plugging things, the first season of the Higurashi anime has been out for awhile and the licensed manga is being released at a pretty rapid click now so if you haven't bought any of it yet I definitely recommend supporting the cause and swinging over to purchase them if you can! UPDATE-O!! And not a bad one if I do say so myself. First, we have Chapter 5 of Matsuribayashi-hen, drawing to a close (I suspect) Takano's heart-wrenching arc. Thanks to TheAce once again for the translations! Also, in honor of the fifth episode's release we have a Kara no Kyoukai doujin entitled Marionette Game by Comic a la Carte. Dig it! Finally, a kind soul tracked down the last three chapters of the Fate Official Manga (15-17) which are now up. The links should work now too, sorry to anyone who had trouble earlier! And if there's anyone out there interested in translating some Meakashi-hen we'd really appreciate it! Falchion has already cleaned up the entire first volume... UPDATE-O Well, I know the amazing crew of Gaku-Touhou has their own page for releasing, but I just had to put the newest Touhou doujin, Variant Youyoumu 2 (MAHJONG!) up here, partly because I edited it, partly because it's balls to the wall epic. Thanks to Pilpsie and Akira for the translations! Keep your eyes on Gensokyo for future releases. Also, if you have a little time, my friend from film school looks like he's got a shot at rocking the "What Would You Do For a Klondike Bar" contest. The Nanaya Rumors: Only Last for One Night: A few stories of pure hilarity. Les Arts Martiaux: Akiha isn't really a great sister, it appears. Here comes some other stuff! First of all, Angel Notes. I'm sure many of you have read it, but it's a Nasu written story about an Angel on Earth. It is a wonderfully touching story, so please read it from the F/SN page if you get the chance and haven't. Second of all, Kaleido Prisma Ilya. We're talking TYPE-MOON Magical Girl Ilya. What more could you want? Third of all... Is that Umineko you see on the side bar? Well, it just so happens that it is! Yes, Gaku Gaku Animal Land is editing Ryukishi07's new series' manga, Umineko no Naku Koro Ni! This chapter was edited by Sterling01 and tled by TheAceFrehley, but I believe I will be editing the rest, though not completely sure! A rather large UPDATE! Have you noticed some small changes on the side? Yes, Gaku Gaku Animal Land now releases Watanagashi-hen and Tatarigoroshi-hen! However, these are not edited by members of Gaku Gaku Animal Land. Rather, they are edited by The Higurashi Project! Members include Yui Jegnan and Atashi translating Watangashi-hen, Emma translating Tatarigoroshi-hen, Vladimir Harkonnen editing Watanagashi-hen, Vladimir Harkonnen, CriCri, and Yakuri editing Tatarigoroshi-hen, and Gitami proofreading it all. Thanks go to them for letting us release through GGAL and getting us even more visitors! Chapters 1-4 of Watanagashi-hen have been scanlated and chapters 1-7 of Tatarigoroshi-hen have been scanlated. I do apologize, there is a rather difficult to edit page at the start that remains, along with the magazine cover and an ad page. I could've edited the page with Mion and the red text, but the sheer amount of effort is ridiculous, and it contains absolutely no story info, unless you are incapable of realizing it is chapter 7, but I guess it does say the time is 2AM on June 22nd, at the Assembly Hall, but I wander. Anyways, there is one good reason why I didn't edit that page: I want to finish this arc in 6 days. I hate to get your hopes up in case I mess up, but this is my goal. I more or less spent the last five days in bed sick as a dog. Man, I wish I had medical (or dental.. T_T) insurance. Finally I just ponied up yesterday and went to a minute clinic to get some antibiotics. Turns out I have strep-throat with a side of ear infection... No fun. Unlike our update which is loaded with win and joy! [/segue] Nothing Tsukihime for you tonight, but we do have two servings of Fate with a little Kara no Kyokai for dessert. On the Fate/Kara no Kyokai page you'll find Death Fate, an amalgamation of Death Note and the Nasuverse, and Kokuto of Heavy Sleep, a real treat considering the relative rarity of Kara material. UPDATE-O 2.0 Another update so soon after that last ginormous one? You're goddamn right! First I'd like you to look to your left at the menu. See it? You're not having an acid flashback, there is indeed a Rozen Maiden page on there. Interestingly enough before I'd ever heard of Touhou I migrated to their board looking for RM doujinshi to work on, but they are alas few and far in between and this is the first one I've had the pleasure of editing (thanks to Pilpsie's wonderful translations). So without further ado I'd advise you all to hop over there and pick up She Likes Cats After All! by the esteemed mangaka Hole of Yago (who you might already be familiar with from the fine Touhou work he's been churning out by the boatload). And while we're on the topic of Touhou, you'll also find a new breathtakingy illustrated doujin over their entitled Faster Than Light by mangaka Shou Hikawa. Excluding Flipflop, this is some of the finest work I've ever seen in a Touhou doujin, and that's no small accomplishment considering the wealth of material out there. Hopefully we'll see more from this mangaka in the future~ Thanks to Ruka for the edits and Pilpsie once again for the fine translations! <3 And what would a Gaku update be without a little Type-Moon mayhem? The prolific duo that is Lvlln and Delta have been on fire the last couple days, and they proudly bring you two new pieces of doujinshi hot off the presses. He's the one responsible for translating all the wonderful Gogi Power stuff you've been seeing here lately. Let's also take our hats off to Bun and Mysterio006, seasoned Touhou editors who've been kind enough to share their work with us! And we've got high hopes for our new translator Parko who's planning on translating Himatsubushi-hen for us in the future.. <3 Incidentally, I still haven't got around to organizing the Touhou page by author so you'll find all the recent releases at the top. FUCK! Eheh.. For some reason I messed up the link for "Defeat You at the Bamboo Forest" and had it going to an entirely different file. Sorry folks, should be fixed now. m(_ _)m update-o One big thing and a bunch of little ones in this update. First, from the Touhou front, a whimsical doujin entitled Defeat You at the Bamboo Forest. This doujin is a sequel to Half-Beast Half-Ghost Strife Chronicle by mangaka Sougetsu-Tei. Thanks to Adonic Meki and Tiger for the translations and Trilkk for the edits! Next we have two brief but steamy Haruhi pieces courtesy of the Dewley. The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina is a fun-filled side-story/omake which supplements the previously released Ra~men doujin. There's also the deliciously risque webcomic Bath Syndrom, which offers coed bathing at its finest. Finally, three little things for the Type-Lunatics. You'll find 4koma and Caster-Sensei in the Fate section and Watermelon Temple on the Tsukihime page. These have all been done for quite awhile, but I was waiting to release them for various reasons. UPDATE-O! Tonight we have an epic Fate Stay Night doujin, Shirou Must Die, penned by the very talented mangaka Kalmia and brought to you thanks to the diligent efforts of Yozora and Raenius! This one will also be popular with the Touhou crowd, as it's full of plenty of cute-meido action. <3 (If anyone has the rest of the "puppy-Ilya" doujin by the same author please let me know) Secondly, we have more Haruhi webcomics for you thanks to the one man army that is Joe. In Let's Go Home Together the red string of fate seems to once again be uniting Mikuru and Koizumi, as has been the tradition in Yuuma's other works. A new page has also been added to Safe Mode Nagato, grab it here if you already downloaded it. And I finally got around to updating the members page. Let me know if I'm still missing anyone. Still no luck finding a Cardcaptor Sakura translator for those doujins Arlein wants to scan, let me know if you're interested! UPDATE-O! Higurashi fans rejoice!! For today we have the second installment of Oni Sarashi Hen available for your viewing pleasure. Be forewarned, though, this chapter is definitely not for the faint of heart. In fact, if your time zone is anything close to mine (4 a.m. >_>) you might want to save this disturbing chapter in the lives of these Hinamizawan expatriates for a time when the Sun is out. Cause I guarantee it'll be haunting my dreams at least, when I finally cash in that is. Huge thanks once again to Kuma for the phenomenal translations! (And thanks to Klashikari and Gains for providing the raws!) Also, as you might have noticed in this and the previous chapter that the sound effects haven't been translated. At first I didn't think it was that necessary, and didn't want to double/triple the time between releases, but now I'm regretting that decision and planning to go back and do them and release revised editions of chapter one and two eventually. Now as for future chapters, there are several ways we can handle SFX. I'd appreciate your input on what route we should take, (redraw/margins/ignore/revise) check out this thread at Beast's Lair for a poll. And Type-Moon fans don't despair. Once again, courtesy of everyone's favorite Greek letter, we have a jolly good Fate webcomic penned by the renowned STEED. Variant Tabi J is almost as terrifying as Oni Sarashi, but in an enjoyable way. Let's just say it's funny-bone chilling. Our deepest gratitude to LaC over at Danbooru for the translations! UPDATE-OH FUCK YEAH!!!!! You heard right, in this monumental update we have something spectacular from both Tsukihime and Fate. For the Tsukihime camp we have a doujin, translated by lvlln and edited by Delta, that should appeal to Miyako-fanatics and Kohaku worshippers alike. How have we reached these drastically different demographics you ask? Find out in China and Twin! And fans of the Fate spin-off Sword Dancer will be positively elated to hear that, thank to Yozora's generous translation, we've finally finished editing the second episode of Sword Dancer II: "Red Showdown." When I say we, I'm definitely not speaking in the kingly sense. Rather, this doujin was edited as a team. A wealth of assistance was provided by the good Madcat of wakachan. Because we're fucking insane we actually redrew every hateful bloody sound effect in SD2.2 for your enjoyment! (T_T) Here's how it went. When I started out editing I said I was planning to edit as many of the sound effects as I could , but that it might take a month. Then Madcat emerged from the shadows and offered to go in and redraw them all for me. Incredulous, I was like "Naw, thanks but I got it dude." So all was going well when I hit a couple of biggies. And after doing solid redrawing all over every page, for hours and hours, staring at something like this and this for words like "fwoosh" and "collapse" I got a little lazy. So I skipped em, as has been the tradition in the past. Then, a little later, half in jest I suggested that Madcat edit the huge sound effects. Shortly thereafter he posted these fucking brilliant edits, and subsequently edited most of the other "big guns" edits throughout SD2.2. Gaze in awe folks, and perhaps donate your first-born to the allmighty Madcat. m(_ _)m I wonder how many people actually read this? Give us a shout out in the guestbook if you enjoyed Sword Dancer II.2! It almost killed me and Madcat... X_X Also I just got most of the translations for Ch. 2 of Oni Sarashi from Kuma! Sis-Long-Legs, painstakingly edited by Raenius and translated by the infamous Cruzz (whose scanslations introduced me to Type-Moon and doujinshi in the first place), is one of the most humorous doujins I've ever experienced. I haven't laughed so loud in quite awhile (I think I scared my rottweiler.. >_>). Secondly, we have a Haruhi webcomic, How to Make a Sweet Tea, and a Haruhi doujin, Ashita no Mikuru, from the very talented Dewley! Progress Report: Someone on /A/ asked when Oni Sarashi ch. 2 would be released. Rather than the usual "when we're damn good and ready you fucking leecher! >:O", a mantra I was used to from SC, I actually considered it. I really can't say for certain. Kuma's almost done with translations. Since (as far as I know) he's not translating SFX, and there's almost no redrawing involved, editing should be a breeze. Chapter one (excluding the hellish color pages) was some of the simplest insertion I've ever done. Assuming I can get SDII.2 done by the time I get the translations, and perhaps get the raws cleaned up in the interim, it shouldn't take more than a few days to edit. So no real time frame, just an idea of what has to get done before Oni Sarashi to reach you. (~^_^)~ Meanwhile expect plenty of the usual goodness from Raenius, Joe, Trilkk and Delta! Also, no promises, but it looks like CoffeeAnon (the person who translated the doujin Hajisarashi-hen) might be interested in translating Yoigoshi-Hen (the other official side-stories!) Let's hope that comes through. I got a peek at the raws and they'll blow your friggin' mind out, as the very premise answers one of the most eagerly anticipated unanswered questions posed by the series thus-far. |

More Clover Club Craziness in the form of the second half of T-Moon Complex S, which contains two short Fate stories, Local Hero and Cockroach Panic, and a longer Tsukihime one, Prologue. The latter is one of the wildest CCC doujins I've ever seen, which is saying a lot. It explores what goes through Arc's head during the period between her dismemberment and her cheerful greeting of Shiki. UPDATE-O!! This is a very special update, for two reasons. First, you may remember seeing some STEED stuff from Cruzz awhile back. Along with outrageously cute 4-koma (most of which is entirely devoid of dialogue) STEED has done quite a number of doujins and webcomics, only a smidgen of which has ever made it into English. So naturally, I've always wondered if we'd have any STEED stuff at Gaku? Delta has answered this question with a resounding "YES!" This piece, Variant Tabi RX (the prelude to a larger doujin), was found by Delta on Danbooru. Huge thanks to 葉月 and Haplo for the translations. (It has characters from Tsukihime as well as Fate in it, but because Kohaku steals it I placed this in the Tsukihime section) The second order of business is great news for you Tako fanatics. (Who's not a Tako fanatic anyway? Marry me Tako!) Thanks to Pilpsie and Tanin's masterful translations we've finally been able to complete scanslation of Dog-Reimu and Marisa's Book - Komainu Set! This doujin is comedically epic folks, trust me on this. Tako is perhaps the most hilarious and creative mangakas on the doujin scene (you might remember "Touhou Rich Miko"? Same gal) and I'm very excited to bring you another of her works. Since this story takes place fairly autonomously from the other arcs, and only a handful of characters overlap, it's possible to enjoy it without having watched the rest of the series. It's probably for the best to watch the question arcs at least though, as this first chapter will reveal a rather crucial plot point that isn't unveiled until around half-way through the animated series. Third, we have a few Type-Moon staples to your comic diet. For Crazy Clover Club fans (which apparently are quite abundant) we have the first half of the newest volume, Type Moon Complex S - Hero, centered upon Archer. Secondly, we have an intriguing crossover called Fate Gakuen Alternative featuring the characters of Fate Stay Night in the environment of a manga called Makai Gakuen. I have no idea what the hell that is either, but check it out. You won't be disappointed. ~Aortic |

UPDATE-O!! Today is a two for one, or perhaps a one for two if that's how you look at it. Two doujins for you, one from Fate and one from Tsukihime. One of them, Today's Number One, not unlike the last two updates, is by Gogi Power Hiroyuki. The other one, One Day!, is not by anyone I've seen before. Perhaps you wonder where to find them? You'll find the former one in the Tsukihime section and the latter one in the Fate section. In the first everyone's favorite moe moe meganekko has finally won a shot at her own anthology. In the second, the cast of Fate demonstrate that once in awhile even they have to kick their feet up and watch some fireworks in yukatas. Enjoy! UPDATE-O!! While I was stumbling around drunkenly celebrating 22 years of bacchanalian mayhem Raenius and Kempo have been very productive, scanslating another phenomenal batch of 4komas by the infamous Lemlaml entitled Neighborhood-Servant Revelation 2! You might remember Lemlaml was also responsible for those fantastic Tsukihime webcomics we worked on in the past. (I believe all that's left to scanslate are the Hisui and Arc chapters) And for those who say we never finish stuff, well... we still haven't finished this either, but we do have another two parts to the Kara no Kyokai doijin "Empty", Showdown and Decisive Battle, which you'll find at the bottom of the Fate page. These were also painstakingly translated by the Kempcatholic of Beast's Lair! It looks like they'll be animating Kara in the form of a feature film. There isn't much information available so far, but this definitely looks very promising. Coupled with a second season of Higurashi, this could make for a very entertaining year! Also, for all the Higurashi fans out there, don't forget to vote on the 18th for Oishi ("Mr. Delicious") in the SaiGAR tournament! I doubt he can survive against the competition, but I'd love to see him make it to the next round. Oh, the Oni Sarashi project is progressing nicely. ~Aortic |

UPDATE-O! What? Another Touhou doujin? You heard right. We're proud to bring you the first segment of Daydream, an explosive story chronicling the dream match-up of Remilia (loli vampire, final boss of Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil) and Yuyuko (slothful spirit, final boss of Perfect Cherry Blossom). This scenario assumes that instead of sending Sakuya out to fix the spring situation Remi took matters into her own hands. The artwork is breathtaking. Thanks to Tiger of Wakachan for providing the translations! Enjoy! ~Aortic Daily SaiGAR comment: Yesterday I was happy to see Shikamaru come out ahead with a pretty strong lead. He plays go, which gives me a soft spot for him. Somehow tonight they're pitting Nagisa Kaworu from Evangellion against Wolfwood of Trigun. Seems a tad unfair. Kaworu puts the "gar" in "gay-dar", he has no place in this tournament. I'm also wondering how Harima Kenji will fare against Rock Lee (unibrow) of Naruto. Narutards are strong, but I suspect Harima's unabashed badassness will secure him a victory.  |

UPDATE-O! I know you Touhou fans must have been feeling left out lately, with so much of the other stuff projects being released in the past couple updates. So here's something very special for your enjoyment. We Are Prismriver, by Amamizu (whose previous work "Commander! Please do not use the slow-movement rapid-fire button!" you're probably intimately familiar with), has a much more somber tone than other work I've seen of his. I can say, without exaggeration, that--plot-wise at least--this is probably the finest doujin I've had the privilege of working on. This is The Notebook of doujins people, so break out some kleenex before reading it. (That's not what I mean you degenerates! >_>) Though Leyla's ahoge is nothing short of adorable. (And for all of you who still haven't checked out the Touhou stuff, you're really missing out!) UPDATE-O! In this release, as promised, we have some Higurashi doujin goodness for you. This one, entitled Hajisarashi-hen, I stumbled upon at the Higurashi imageboard (called "USODA!" XD) which I've recently discovered. It was originally translated and edited by Coffee Anon, I merely re-edited it with a little higher quality (twas his first attempt at editing. We also have something fantastic from Raenius and Lvlln, Moon Princess, which features the Tsukihime gals cosplaying as Sailor Moon characters. >_> Thanks to some generous folks at the Animesuki forums we were able to obtain the raws for Oni Sarashi, the two volume side-story arc from the official manga. I've started cleaning the pages up, so now all we have to do is find some translators.... ....... ....... m( _ _ )m If you're interested in helping in any way learn more about the it here or dive right into the first chapter here! UPDATE-O! Hope everyone had as great of a Christmas as I did. Feels like I've been eating delicious food for four days straight. <3 Huge thanks to editor Raenius and translators Archerwannabe, Lvlln and Baiken, who've have put together a few more fun-filled things for you to enjoy over the holidays. First a short but sweet Fate piece called Falling Asleep centered upon the popular theme of "find the protagonist sleeping and snuggle with him." Secondly, Love of Tears, a wonderful Tsukihime story about Sacchin's adventures with a love-love umbrella. Also a little Gogi Power one entitled  Female Teacher Arcueid's Special Class. And lastly, and most notably, Bad End 5, translated from a Korean translation for your reading pleasure. There have been a lot of Bad Ends floating around over the years, it's great to finally be able to enjoy one in English! (~^_^)~Oh yeah, almost missed Naka Kao Hi, which contains perhaps the sexiest portrayal of Rider I've seen yet. Happy holidays all! ~Aortic P.S. UPDATE-HO-HO-HO We've got some great stocking-stuffers awaiting you in the archives this year. Firstly, you'll notice that there's a new Murder Princess section on the menu to your left. MP was a pet project of mine over at SnoopyCool. I finished the third chapter like two months ago, but as it doesn't look like it'll be released anytime soon I'm taking the initiative. Not sure if you'll see anymore in the near future, depends if the wonderful Okage feels like doing any more translating... (Think of it as a joint project of sorts) Secondly, we have our first Kara no Kyokai project, the first story -Reunion- from the doujin Kara-plus: Empty. There are a few more stories which follow it, which you might see here in the future. Who knows. (Kara no Kyokai is the novel which served as a prototype for Tsukihime, find out more about it at the Moonlit World) Thirdly a few Fate goodies. We have the eagerly anticipated second volume of Sword Dancer by the very talented Himura Kiseki to start with, which I must say is frigging wild. (You'll find a link in the archives to the first one in case you haven't read it). You'll also find another glorious Okota doujin, MoeMoon Night, this one centered predominantly upon Fate. Finally, Versus by Mashin Eichirou (author of Ciel vs. Mech-Ciel), centered upon the Fate stars of track and field, will no doubt bring you an abundance of holiday cheer. UPDATE-O! More Touhou stuff coming at ya. (Duck!) We've got a wacky story about the Prismriver sisters to start with: Prismriver--Bonded by Love. These musicians from Perfect Cherry Blossom were some of my favorite characters from the game itself. Yet sadly, their appearances in doujins are pretty few and far inbetween. Thanks to Solamarle for translating! We also have another one by the very talented managaka Flip-Flops, Akyu's Toxic Diary, centered around Akyu, a human child who doesn't appear in the games themselves but is featured prominently in the Touhou mythologies. UPDATE-O Looks like I underestimated the amount of bandwidth this would take up.. >_> Almost 3000 hits on the first day got my free account frozen, so I paid $5 for another pile. (Plus this should get rid of those pesky advertisements.) Today, we have a wealth of Touhou goodness for you. In the Archives you'll find all the stuff we released at SnoopyCool, which were only available in hard to track down torrents and on IRC, plus a new doujin entitled Variant Youyoumu which I recommend all of you new to the Touhou series check out. It more or less manga-izes the game Perfect Cherry Blossom--up until the second-to the last boss that is--an amazing carpet-scrolling shooter which has since been translated into English and you should all be playing. (It's hard as fuck though, I played it for months before I got a good ending on easy.. >_>) I was introduced to Touhou through doujins at wakachan, before ever playing the game, so there's no reason to think you can't enjoy the amazing characters and fascinating setting through scanslated doujins and webcomics as well. If you want to learn more about the Touhou series, check out the Touhou Wiki, which you'll find a link to in the "affiliates" section.
