Assistant Coach - Knights of Columbus Basketball League, Kingston, ON
1995 - 1998 (Boys, Age 12-14)

  • Community League where NCAA stand-outs Gerry Besselink and Mary-Jane Besselink first played
  • Started coaching after I was too old to play
  • Won Coach of the Year trophy with Keith Cahill (HC) in 1996-97

Head Coach - Knights of Columbus Basketball League, Kingston, ON
1999 - 2004 (Boys, Age 12-14)

  • Former Head Coach had a baby so I was given the opportunity to become Head Coach
  • When I became Head Coach I realized that it was something that I really wanted to pursue in my future
  • Ran man-to-man defense and used basic offense with down screens and movement without the ball

Head Coach - YMCA Raptors Ball, Kingston, ON
2002-2003 (Boys & Girls, Age 7-10)

  • Part instructional/part games
  • Coached children on basics of game shooting, dribbling techniques, passing, defending
  • Basic floor spacing for 5-on-5

Coach - Brock University Basketball Camps, St. Catherine's, ON
August 2003 (Boys , Age 7-10)

  • Worked with boys of various skill level to improve their game
  • Had group drills and individual team drills
  • Team practices and 5-on-5 instruction
  • Ran passing station

Coach - North Kingston Basketball Camps, Kingston, ON
August 2006 (Boys & Girls, Age 8-16)

  • Worked with boys and girls of various skill level to improve their game
  • Had group drills and individual team drills
  • Team practices and 5-on-5 instruction
  • Ran dribbling station

Head Coach - Durham College Spring League, Oshawa, ON
March - June (Boys, Age 8-16)

  • Grades 4-6 and 7-8 skills/drills prior to start of games
  • Coached in three different age groups
  • Took Grades 9-12 team to the Finals and lost in Triple OT due to players fouling-out
  • Took the Grades 7-8 to the Finals and won
