Tournament Rules

1.  Tournament rules, as set forth,  shall be the responsablity of each contestent. Interpretation and  Inforcement shall be the responsablity of tournament officals. Violation of any tournament rule  shall be reason for immediate disqualification or penalty(s).

2.  Each boat must carry on board all required safety equipment to meet or exceed the requirements of the  Deperartment of Natural Resources and Coast Guard if  applicable.

3.  Safe boating and courtesy must be observed at all times.

4.  Drinking by any driver, or intoxication of any competitor is strictly prohbitated.

5.  Disgarding trash is prohbitated.

6.  Tackle is restricted to artifiacial lures only, unless predetermind to be a live bait tournament at the time of  schdule.

7.  All Fishing laws and regulations, in the state of the tournament location, shall be followed.

8. Any contestant that operated a boat in such a manner to unfairly handicap his partner shall be disqualified.

9. Tournament hours shall be divided equally between contestant. Each contestant for one half of the tournament shall be allowed to choose location and method. Dividing periods is the responablity of the contestants.

10. No fishing within twenty five yards of another competitor.

11. All judges' decisions are final unless the contestant request another opion from a member of the tournament committe whose decision will then be final. The Tournament Committe consists of elected officers.

12. The Chairman will announce weigh-in time before starting the tournament.

13.  The weigh-in site will always be  at the launching ramp site regardless of the blast off area.

14. The Chairman's watch will be official; all watches will be set to it.

15. Any contestant that is not in site of the Chairman by starting time will be penalized 15 of his 25 show up points. Any contestant that does not give the Chairman 7  days that he will not be attending a tournament and does not show up for the tournament will be penalized 25 of his score to date.

16. When a contestant that is supplying a boat is late, he is responsible for finding his originally drawn partner. A note will be at the starting area telling him who his partner is with, and what direction they went, and if needed, some simple directions to help find the area. The late contestant with the boat cannot start fishing until he finds his partner.

17. Tournaments will be 8 hours long, unless predetermind in the meeting that the yearly schedule is made. Starting and ending times will be determind for each tournament  during the making of the yearly schedule. The Chairman may adjustments to the starting and ending timesto accomodate the  8 hour  tournament rule.

18. The  tournament will be held at the original  site unless cancelled by the tournament committe due to unsafe water conditions; or if by a majority vote, club members determine the tournament should be canceled. Make-up tournament, if any, will be determined by membership of the club by nomintation or motion to change by majority vote of all members.

19.  Pairings of contestants will be decidede by draw  during the meeting a month before the tournament.

20.  Pairings of contestants will stand as drawn unless the Chairman is forced to change the pairings due to absence or and emergency condition. If you are drawn without a partner (odd man) a non-member may fish to make it even. Non-members will not be allowed to fish with the member who introduced him/her. If at any time the pairings become even the non-member will not be allowed to fish.

21.  No 2 members will be allowed to fish together more than 1 time during the first four tournaments of the year, and one time during the remainder of the tournament year. 

22. Minimum length for qualifying fish will be determined by the DNR of the state and place in which the tournament is held.

23.  In the case of a boat becoming disabled, another contestant may bring the fish to weigh-in.

24.  Except as covered by rule #23, any contestant not insight of the Chairman at the weigh-in location, at or before the weigh-in time, will be penalized as follows:

  1. Subtract 8 ounces per minute late, 8 0unces per minute late will be subtract from contestant's lunker bass.
  2. Disqualification for being more than 10 minutes late.

25.  All fish will be weighed in alive and released launch site unless fish meet  DNR  citation requirements. These fish will be given to the contestant  for rlease or mount as he wishs

26.  Five points will awarded  for each fish weighed in alive up to the  limit of that tournament.

27.  Places are decided by total weight.

28. Ties will be broken by largest fish by weight.  If contestants remain tied they will both be awarded the points for that place.

29. Each contestant will be responible for one half of the operating expensese incurred for that tournament.

30. If a member says he he not able to be at a tournament, He will not fish that tournament.

31. The procedure for breaking a tie at the end of the year for the top 8  contestants in the club, will be, First: the total number of fish caught, second: by the largest fish caought during the year, and third: by the flip of a coin.

32. Point award procedure will be as follows:

  • Twenty-five show up  points  per tournament
  • Twenty-five show up points per meeting
  • Five points  for each fish weighed in alive
  • Five points for lunker bass: Largemouth or smallmouth
  • Five point deduction for each dead fish
  • Twenty-five point deduction for each short fish brought to the scale
  • First Place: 100 points
  • Second Place: 80 points
  • Third Place:  60 points
  • Fourth Place: 40 points
  • Fith Place: 20 points
  • Sixth Place: 10 points

33. Club lunker awards will be awarded as follow:

  • Lunker Largemouth caught during annual  club tournaments
  • Lunker Smallmouth caught during annual club tournaments

Approved for revision by majority vote at the April 27th 2000 meeting.
