site updated today! pay special attention the upcoming shows and distro page. most of the rest should look the same. once finals are over (tomorrow!) i will be freed up to actually have some of these things ready to release. hopefully by the big nurse show! not much else to say today, but check out the upcoming shows and GO.. support local noise and experimental musak.

many updates abound today! first, the incredible rick wilson has granted me permission to help in the distribution of the skarekrau radio related docu (mocku?) mentary naugacide! while anti-communication records is not the only place you'll be able to order this amazing film, it will work to get the movie out to new viewers by eventually sending it out to aquarius records in california among other places. in addition, skarekrau radio will be recording a session @ the hagiparis rec room in the not too distant future!
other rathskeller sessions will be taking place throughout the summer. expect to see sessions involving the likes of paragraph and worm hands surface later this year. if you would like to record a session @ the hagiparis rathskeller, please contact me and i'll get you the details.
i'd also like to thank everyone who came out to my first attempt to book a show at St. Louis University. despite a few setbacks, a subpar sound guy, and various other complications, i felt satisfied by the end of the night. i hope everyone had a great time, and i hope to host more shows next fall (hopefully improving the environment for bands and the audience). also thanks for those who had nice things to say about the legless/armless set, i have no idea due to horrible on stage mixing (were my monitors even on??) how it turned out, but i appreciate the kind words.
releases! the duet sessions between timothy wittmann and christopher muether (me!) is still availible. more socks have been compiled for those who missed out the first time. packaging for the first scraped knees record, and the vehemence 6.2 / marvin straighte split tape are being finalized. other releases are still forthcoming, i aim to finish things up when my coursework is finished at SLU this semester. also, as mentioned before, paypal will soon be availible!

rachel has totally hooked me up with all the details i needed to figure out how to run this site; i thought it would be much harder - but apparently i'm just a webophobe or something. now i don't need to bug her to update this site, i can do it myself! she may still, however, create a new site with a better design in the future (you know, all those cool flashy graphics and shizzit) which would be extremely cool. i'm happy with this site for the time being though. anyway, new updates all around! the pictures page has been overhauled, now all the pics have been resized so they fit more nicely. look forward to more pics VERY soon!
also be sure to check the upcoming shows page, because there are some really killer concerts you can't afford to miss!
finally, we have a few mp3 clips up on in the improved distro section! check 'em out and pick up some Cds (or organize a trade!)

all kinds of work-related stuff has been going on here at anti-communication records! first of all, bad stuff like CD burners not working and printers malfunctioning have all but crippled production here at our headquarters. But alas, these problems have mostly been sorted out and work is proceeding nicely. second, this label is way too much for me to handle all on my lonesome . . . so if anyone is willing to help out, you're work would be greatly appreciated, so please let me know; as of right now its basically me (chris) and also rachel helping with the site.
positions I am looking to fill are

- graphic designers / photoshop experts
- website savvy people (rachel is extremely busy nowadays and can’t keep up as much as she’d like to)

Hello! and welcome to the brand new Anti-Communication Records Website!
We are a small CD-r label in St. Louis looking to promote off-kilter and bizarre bands here in the area (and beyond). There is a little known yet thriving scene in St. Louis for young noise, improvisational, and experimental artists that deserve to receive attention and have their music heard by a broader audience. This is the goal of Anti- Communication Records. The label began simply as a means of recording my own musical endeavors and presenting my work for others to explore, but while improving on my recording techniques (with little to no decent equipment mind you!) I began recording other bands and decided to finally do something with all of these compiling hours of audio glory! While some of the records here are not recorded by me - and are simply released by Anti-Communication - the vast majority are. We uphold a very DIY ethic in our production and sales, so expect some interesting new music at dirt cheap prices! By the end of 2004 we plan on having around ten new records for you to get your hands on .. so stay tuned, the best is yet to come!
