This website is for anoles, for people who just got anoles, and for people who want anoles.
You must first understand that even though a anole is a small lizard
doesn't mean you can ignore it. You must take very good care of it or
it will die.
They have as much
feeling as you do, but they have no power as to what happens to them.
They depend on you to take care of them and you have to understand that
before you get a anole. If you have a question please e-mail me or go
the common questions, there you will find some common questions that
were asked and the answers, if the question YOU ask isn't there than
e-mail me at: Anole_Caring@hotmail.com, thanks and enjoy!

Anoles grow to lengths of 5-8 inches, with a long, slender tail. They are
green in color, but can change to various shades of brown depending on
their mood and environment. Males have a pink dewlap that they will inflate
from time to time to attract females, and as a terrirorial gesture. Females
are typically smaller, often reaching only 5 inches in length.
To properly metabolize calcium, the anloes need exposure to UVB (ultra violet
light). This allows them to covert vitamin D into D3. Without this light, they
may develop metabolic bone disease. This light must not be filtered through
glass or plastic. Two to four hours a week of bright sunlight is normally enough.
If you cannot expose them to the sun, then a suitable lamp should be provided, though
if I were you I would just to with a lamp because if you keep them in
the sun too long they will dry out and that would not be good so you
will want to make sure the tank isn't too hot, dry, or cold for health
resons. (Place lamp over tank so the light can really get in the tank,or you can have a light on the top lid of the tank.) The lamp will need to be 75-100 watts.
