For The Animals - Ann E. Dawg Rescue works to help "any dog" who is in harm's way, regardless of breed, bloodline, age, health or circumstance.

These may be abandoned dogs, owner releases, dogs on death row in shelters, or who are otherwise unwanted, homeless or in imminent danger of death. We do this by:
  • referral to a network of reputable rescues;
  • direct rescue and rehabilitation for adoption;
  • working to change animal welfare legislation
  • educating the public about the human - animal bond
  • providing permanent sanctuary for animals who are unsuitable for general adoption
  • donating time, energy and money to various causes.

Puppies are as much work as a small child. They also live from 7 to 15 years on average. Be prepared to make that lifetime comittment before you bring a puppy home.

Ann E. Dawg
Our "founder" - Ann E. Dawg, affectionately known as Annie, was dumped in an alley back in 1992 as a tiny 3-week old puppy by a heartless person. I rescued her and she became my "heart-dog," the reason for my rescue efforts over the years. Annie was always loving and accepting of humans and animals: she was the first to joyfully greet a new critter upon his or her arrival; she sat up all night with me innumerable times, helping feed orphan pups or tend to the sick; she traveled thousands of miles accompanying me on rescue transports; she house-trained and taught manners to countless puppies; and, as a therapy dog, she gave more unconditional love than most humans deserve.  Annie left my arms for the Rainbow Bridge in January, 2006, from kidney failure, immensely loved to the very end. My final promise to her was that I will continue to help homeless animals in any way I can,  because that is what she would expect me to do.
