Risa Hirada

Age: 14?
Hair: Brown
Eyes: Brown
Crush: Phantom Dark

Risa is a Hirada twin and the younger of the two. She's very boy crazy, and her feminine flares sometimes get on her sister's nerves. She is infatuated with Dark the moment she sees him on television. She realizes Daisuke's feelings, but believes he is too ordinary for her tastes. Risa tries to track down Dark constantly with Daisuke's help. (of course you know that's a problem)
She rarely listens to the advice of her sister to stay as far away from Dark as possible and doesn't realize that her sister is toiling with some confusing emotions too.

Riku Hirada

Age: 14?

Crush: Possible feelings for Daisuke

Riku Hirada is the older and more tom-boyish sister.
She's into sports and is always coming early before school to train. She's discusted with Risa's crush on Dark and constantly warns her about him. Recieving an accidental kiss from Dark herself, she begins to have confusing emotions. From what she believes was a dream, Phantom Dark reminded her of Daisuke and she can't stop thinking about him.

Daisuke Niwa

Nickname: Dai
Age: 14
Hair: Red

Crush: Risa Hirada

Daisuke, akward and clumsy, is truly a sweet boy at heart. He is very cowardly and laid back at times, but his training being undergone in his home has taught him how to hack safes, open locked doors, and even steal items precious to his family. Competing with Dark is a hard task Dai must face. Risa insists on them being best friends, but being around her for long gets his Dark DNA pumping. Quiet and friendly, Dai continues to try and win Risa's affection. Hopefully, before Dark does.

Dark Mousy

Age: ???
Hair: Purple
Eyes: Purple
Crush: Risa Hirada

Dark is a famous theif who's power has been passed down for 300 years through the Niwa family. He is very arrogant and outgoing, never missing a chance to obtain Risa for himself. With his pet With who can transform into his black wings, he can easily fly around town in order to steal what is needed of him. His feathers have magical powers that sometimes, Daisuke can't help but release him to use. The two are constantly battling for control wanting to stay in their forms as long as possible.

Xanimator's Anime Review

Story Line : 10/10

The story is very well planned out. The whole love triangle plus the transformations, Dark's jobs, and enemies all fit together in a big puzzle. The involved romance scenes and action really makes you forget about the lack of comedy. Oh, and don't think that means there is none. There still are some funny parts. Not much information is given to the audience when first watching it, but questions are answered throughout the series. This is a very good aspect, because it keeps the audience intrigued, guessing, and using their imaginations to figure out the storyline.

Animation: 10/10

The animation is breath taking and the characters are so well brought to life. All the characters have that new wet look instead of the old scratchy dry one. The animation is really best during the battle scenes. All those feathers! My gosh what a thing to watch!

Sound: 9.5/10

The beginning theme is awesome. The first time I listened I couldn't get it out of my head. The sound effects are great and go well with the character's actions. Being the setting is in Italy, the music is very adequate for their town with the little acordion playing all the time. It's nice to see the characters in somewhere other than Japan for once, which is definetly a bonus. The theiving music is awesome. It's very mysterious and keeps you intrigued to the scene. The only flaw is the ending theme. The first time I heard it I didn't find it to be the greatest. Now I'm hooked on the song, but a catchier ending like the beginning would have done DN Angel more justice.

Dialoug: 10/10

The English voice overs were very nicely done. Daisuke played by the voice actor Kevin Corn, really goes with his quiet and gentle character. Vic Mignogna, who does the voice acting for Dark, plays his role very well. His arrogant tone really sets the mood for his out-going character. The two Hirada sisters Luci Christian who voice acts Risa and Hilary Haag who plays Riku actually sound like twins! It's astonishing how close their voices are. The words are very well coordinated with the mouth flaps. It gives you a very natural flow while watching the anime.

Over All: 9.5/10

This is an outrageously awesome anime. Iv'e been waiting to view it for a very long time and almost caved for the japanese with subtitles. Thank goodness for the volume one english dubbed release. It's so much easier to understand in english. The deep involved story line of DN Angel made me fall in love with the anime in only one episode. The problem is waiting for the other 6 volumes to be released. *twitch* I bet I'm going to have all four episodes on the DVD memorized by the time the second one comes.
