We care for animals

The law

During the making of this special
edition of animal monthly, we decided to take a look at the most frequent question that is on
everyone's mind, is animal testing legal in Australia?

The verdict is that yes, unfortunately animal testing
is currently LEGAL in Australia but there are rules and regulations to ensure the welfare of animals although this is not always Enforced and taken into consideration.

While looking through the laws I decided to compare the laws. What I found
interesting was that They let cosmetic companies test on animals yet in the
Prevention of cruelty to animals act 1986- sect 9 it states that a

person who-

   (a)  wounds, mutilates, tortures, overrides, overdrives, overworks, abuses, beats, worries, torments or terrifies an animal;
or

   (b)  loads, crowds or confines an animal where the loading, crowding or

        confinement of the animal causes, or is likely to cause, unreasonable

        pain or suffering to the animal;

Is putting that animal through “Cruelty” which is exactly what cosmetic companies are     doing when they do inaccurate, pointless tests on animals for the use of our own selfish  needs.

The government enforces these laws like the Prevention of cruelty to animals act 1986 to  ensure everyone is treated fairly, but really and truly not everyone is being treated fairly. How are animals being treated fairly when they are wounded, tortured, worried, tormented and put in confined spaces so we can have “the latest look.”

They says dogs are a mans best friends, but have the cosmetic industry's reached the limit when that     statement can no longer be used?
