Animal Guardians

Creating A Haven for All Creatures Great & Small

Welcome

Welcome to the Home Page of Animal Guardians! Animal Guardians is a brand new no-kill shelter/Foster Organization. We are based in the Bensalem, PA area. Although we are currently very small, do not let this deceive you. One day we hope to be able to house thousands of animals at diverse locations across the nation. Our main goals are to find furever homes for abandoned and stray animals, stop animal abuse and cruelty, support spay/neuter programs and educate the public as to why it is NOT ok to treat your pets like disposable furniture. So please, look around. Leave no rock unturned and no page unread. Maybe you can find a special place in your life for one of our needy pets, or maybe you can volunteer and make a difference in many pet's lives.

It has come to my attention that the above statement is actually a bit misleading. While this is exactly what I hope for Animal Guardians, and as soon as possible, I would like to clearly express exactly what we currently are. This website at the moment is essentially to help me rehome animals that I find or are given to me. I will also hopefully be fostering for PACCA/PAWS soon and those kittens will be listed here as well. Animal Guardians is not an organized entity of any type, just me trying to do the best I can to help some great little guys out while getting the name Animal Guardians into the public eye. I am very sorry to anyone who feels they may have been misled or misinformed. I hope that you will all continue to support me and other rescues and people in their efforts to help animals and I hope that you will not forget Animal Guardians and will support us in our journey to become a dedicated and wonderful shelter/rescue/sanctuary. As always, any help is most greatly appreciated.

News!

November 6th, 2006

Hi everybody & welcome to Animal Guardians! This is a website devoted to starting up a No-Kill Animal Shelter and Foster Program in the Bensalem, PA area. This is my first website, so please don't mind the graphics or anything too much. :-) Ok, here is the idea. I would like to start a non-profit organization to shelter and place unwanted animals. To begin with I would like Animal Guardians to be a ring of Foster homes, primarily for cats. As things get going and we begin to draw enough donations I would like to rent a house, prefferably, or a place in a strip mall or the like which we can use as a permanent shelter when there are no foster homes available. I would like to be able to foster every type of animal from dogs through fish eventually. I need YOUR help to do this though. If you are interested in helping out our furry friends please see my "How YOU Can Help" page. If you see something you feel you can and would like to do, visit my Contact page and let me know. The more the merrier!

UPDATE! I have added a ratings and comments section on the webpage, a poll and a comments for the poll on the You Decide page. I have added another volunteer idea as well. I have also updated and changed the music and effects for all of the pages. Thanks for all the people who have visited and signed the Guestbook. We really appreciate your support! We are still desperately in need of foster homes, so PLEASE contact me if you are interested.

URGENT!!! We now have one (1) kitten who badly needs either a furfoster home or a furever home. If you are interested check our available pets page for a description of the kitten. PLEASE contact me if you think you can take this sweet little girl into your home, even if it is only temporary. She really needs you! In other events, I have added a page displaying a sample Adoption Form as well as added another volunteer idea. I have also added another comment on the You Decide page for people to exchange short anecdotes about their pets, pets they've rescued and pets they've furfostered.

We still have no foster homes and there is still one (1) kitten available for adoption. I have added more to the adoption application and I have also more volunteer opportunities to the list as well as begun construction on a page for advertising. Thank you everyone who has visited for your support!

Hey everyone, sorry it has taken me so long to update the news! I have been busy with school and a new job. I do have good news however! We have placed the kitten, Sophie, with a furever family and she seems to be doing wonderfully there. Her new human Mommy & Daddy love her very much and so does her new human brother and sister. I am adding a new page today for success stories about animals we have placed. Also, on a more personal note, I am happy to say that my family and I have added Sammy the Budgerigar (Parakeet) to our family. He is a blue and white dominant pied. His big sister, Carrie the silver kitty, is still a bit jealous of him, and I think she may have wanted to eat him at first, but things have quited down and are going well now.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!!! I hope everyone has had a great holiday season and welcome to the new year. I'm sorry it has been so very long since I last updated. Things have been hectic. We are getting close to 100 visiters to this site! I can't wait until the weather warms up and dries up. I will be hitting the flea markets promoting the group. Oh, and if anyone has any info on being declared officially a tax exempt, non-profit organization, I would really appreciate the help. Also, out of 80 some visiters, I have only 3 Guestbook signings. Can you guys PLEASE sign the guestbook when you visit? It nice to know people care and I could really use the input. Thanks everybody!!!!!!

March 20th, 2007

Hey everybody! I just added a new page, the Memorial page, please go check it out, it's coming along very nicely, it looks good. Also, I have the exciting news that we have had our 100th visitor today. I would like to do something for it, but I still have no volunteers or anyone contacting me, so... How about the 100th person to sign the guest book will receive some sort of suprise? Also, if anyone knows of any good places to set up a booth at a flea market or something, please let me know.

I have added the Petition page today, and put the Wrongful Death Petition on it. I strongly urge anyone and everyone visiting this page to take the time to read and sign the petition. It is very important, and something that has enraged me for as long as I can remember. Things need to change, and this is something that will barely take a minute of your time. Thank you SO MUCH for helping us out.

June 2nd, 2007

We currently have a new pet for adoption, a DOG! He is a four month old Collie/Sheltie mix named Max. He is an EXCELLENT dog I really hope someone will consider adding this excellent pet to their family.

June 3rd, 2007

Max should be off to his new home soon for a trial period, and hopefully permenately. I will take him off the site after I am positive this is a permenant adoption. Also, FINALLY, what we have been waiting for: We have our first furfoster home! I am very happy to announce this. She is looking for a litter of orphaned baby kittens. She will be keeping one and the rest will be adopted out. If you know of a litter in need, let me know as soon as possible. This will also be posted on the Pets Wanted page. Thanks to everyone who has made this possible!

June 8th, 2007

Thank you to April for helping the 5 little babies make their way here. Hopefully I will now be able to find more foster homes to take in some more little angels. Also, Max seems to be very happy and so do his new parents so I am taking him off the page. Lastly, I graduated last night, so now I should have a lot more time to devote to the rescue so hopefully now things will pick up.

The baby kittens are all doing well, and we have already found homes for 3 of them! I am very happy with all of the people who are now signing the guest book. It is so nice to see that people care. We MAY be getting a pair of rats that will be going up for adoption. It is not definite yet, but it is likely. They are a Siamese and a Beige. Both are males. They WILL NOT be adopted out for food. I understand that snakes must eat too, but these are pet rats, not food. Also, I believe in feeding frozen mice when at all possible, so again, these will not be for food. In other news, we have passed our 200th visitor mark! Congratulations!                                                                                                          UPDATE: We now have two (2) Fancy Rats up for adoption, AS PETS ONLY. Please see the available pets page for more information about these little snuggle bugs.

Reply to Guestbook: This satuerday is my 18th birthday, and first thing I am doing is filling out a foster application to foster PACCA kittens. While I had hoped to foster animals on my own, PACCA pays for the medical and I simply cannot afford that on my own right now. I also hope to be fostering Guinea Pigs for the Have a Heart Guinea Pig Rescue as soon as I can talk my parents into it. It is so wonderful that people are starting to offer to help me and Animal Guardians! I don't think I can accept monetary donations because I am not legally a tax exempt organization, but if anyone has extra cages, blankets, food bowls, toys... lying around that would be great. Actually, I could especially use anything for small kittens (bottles, formula, kitten food, blankets, bowels, litterbox, ...) the most right now. Thanks again to everything who has offered to help. I really encourage anyone who can to foster kittens right now because it is "kitten season" and many, MANY kittens won't make it through. ALL the shelters are very overpacked. Of course, dogs, small animals, everything. They all need help.

Happy 18th birthday to me! Finally, I was able to fill out the foster form for PAWS! Midnight of my birthday I was on here doing that. I'm so excited! I know it is still going to be almost 2 weeks before I get anything most likely, partially because they have to move things along and partially because my Bindi Boy kitten has an appointment for shots this week before I get any fosters, but I'm still super excited! I will, of course, keep everyone updated as new information comes along. Oh, and I believe the ratty boys, Dexter and Jynx, have found a lovely home together. If so they are due to be leaving this Wednesday. Wish us all luck! Oh, and we have reached our 300th visitor today! Congratulations!

June 20th, 2007

The Rat Boys were just picked up to go to their new home. It seems like they will be very happy there. Also, we should be getting kittens in with me soon. All of April's have been adopted, thank you everyone for inquiring. With the litters I will be bringing home I should have my first pics! I will post as soon as they come in, so keep a look out. Don't forget everyone; it is Kitten Season and many, many babies need homes. Mine will be bottle fed and raised with my own cat and kitten most likely, so they should be sweet and well adjusted little ones.

June 24th, 2007

I HAVE FOSTER KITTENS!!!!!!! I went and picked up my first litter from PACCA/PAWS today. I have a pair of 2 week old kittens, I think both are girls, as well as their torti Mama. We named the mama Jade. All 3 are sweet little darlings. I have a Mama and litter b/c there were no bottle-feeders when we went. Hopefully next time I will get my bottle babies. In the mean time, please consider adopting Mama and or a baby or two. Please visit my PACCA Adoption page for all info regarding the babies and Mama Jade.

July 17th, 2007

Ok, I have added forums to the site, hopefully this will generate much more interest and publicity for the site. Also, it is a great way to get a lot of info out there. We'll see how things go. I have also added a Petz 5 page. Petz 5 is an animal themed PC game and it will be explained further on the page. Also, my baby girls are now 5 1/2 weeks old. They grow so fast! They are beginning to eat on their own now, so everything is looking up. One of them is adorable and cute, and the other one is beautiful. They are twins, almost impossible to tell apart, so I am hoping someone will take both of them. I'd love for someone to take all 3, but I know that is a lot to ask for. Mama is lovely and sweet as well, and good with other cats as long as they are not aggressive towards her. So everybody, please check out all the new pages, as well as the PACCA page. Have fun with the forums; they are really a great resource as well as an awesome way to make new friends. And I hope everyone likes the Petz 5 page. Oh, and I almost forgot! I am going to be working on Care Sheets for all different animals. I'm not sure whether I am going to give them their own page or put them on the forum though, so keep an eye out for any updates. If you need one before they are put up, just e-mail me and I'll get one to you pronto. Feel free to use them anywhere, just please give me and the site credit, as it is many hours of research going into them. Thanks!

July 18th, 2007

Hey everybody, we reached our 400th visitor today! Yay!

July 24th, 2007

Hey every one, I just added a page about the anvironment and wild animals, so go check it out. Also, PLEASE check the links page, as there are now 4 sites there which are helping animals and the environment as well. Thanks! Oh, and we are getting close to the 500th visitor point. At that time, I will stop marking every 100th visitor, and mark every 500th, Thanks for making this step possible!

July 30th, 2007

Hey everyone! All kittens from PACCA have been adopted. I am vry sorry to say that until I we have a larger home I will be unable to foster any longer. Grandparents rule, not mine. Hopefully we will have a larger home very soon. However, we do have a 13 month old Shiba Inu seeking a new home due to the addition of a baby.  We also have someone seeking a young rusty red female Golden retriever. Please contact me if you are interested.
