Hello my name is Andy.

I'm a very keen angler, i enjoy any type of fishing, sea fishing, boat fishing and coarse fishing. I have yet to attempt fly fishing.

I have met some and made some great friends while fishing and visiting fishing web site. There's a few who come to mind.Del Jarman, he's an exiled Geordie now living in sunny Devon,Del,another keen angler who prefer's to river fish, Del is also a member of the Barbel Society web site I've know Del for around three years. We keep in touch with regular telephone calls and over the internet. I first met Del at Drayton Ressy, he mistook another angler for me, since then i have met him at fishing shows.Although i have never fished with Del we hope that one day we will meet up on the bank side, A canny fella for a Geordie.

Mark Alderson

Mark, a big friendly fella, he also loves his fishing, Mark is the head bailiff for the PAD Club, The club is dedicated to disabled anglers, Practical Angling for the Disabled. I have had the pleasure of fishing the PAD stretch of the River Trent twice with Mark. Each time has been a fundraising event for charity, the events are always sold out, this year we also plan to have a weekend on the riverbank. Mark loves a challenge, he likes nothing better than going to a new river stretch, commercial water.

My regular fishing partner Daz, great lad who has just become a dad for the first time. I've known Daz for a while now, Daz is my taxi driver for which i am grateful. Daz is a very keen pole angler and has been known to enter competitions. Last year, 2004, Daz introduced me to pike fishing. Our first outing was to the River Tees, i managed to land my first pike with the help of Daz, a small jack of about 3lb.Daz is also a very keen sea angler.

Some other friends i have made through fishing,

Les Midwinter, a great fella, funny without knowing it, Les was with us in Ireland in 2004. I have fished with Les a number of time's, every meeting with Les is a pleasure, full of fun and laughter, we do fish at time's, albeit inbetween the mickey taking and beer drinking.

Ian Mascall aka Mookie, a dedicated river angler, loves nothing better than sitting on a peg on the River Tees after his favourite species, Barbel and Chub, Mookie is also learning pike angling with Daz and myself. Another great fella to be fishing with.

Trevor Manning aka Ziptrev

What can i say about Trev who sadly is no longer with us, Trev passed away in 2002.

I had the pleasure of fishing and meeting Trev on a number of occations, I also met Trev at the Birmingham NEC for the first time.Trev's enthusiasm for fishing and life was boundless, always willing to learn new methods and giving advice. Trev was also a member of the PAD club, the PAD members have dedicated a peg to Trev on the club stretch on the river Trent. We would also keep in touch with regular telephone calls.

Trev had a great way with the written word, his fishing exploits were always a pleasure to read.Trev would go anywhere to fish at the drop of a hat, if someone said they were going to fish a river, or a commercial and and asked if anyone wanted to meet, Trev was alway first in line.

The last time i met Trev was at the river Trent, two weeks later he passed away. R.I.P. Trev.

Kev Richardson and Steve Oakes, my sea fishing partners.

Kev first of all, a big fella who loves his sea fishing, so long as he's on the beach he's happy. Kev has been fishing since his childhood,

Steve

Another very keen sea angler, we also go boat fishing together, Steve is also happy as long as he is on the beach, he always seems to catch when other's dont, which is sometimes annoying.

These are but a few people who i have met through fishing

I have met many people while fishing and through fishing website's. I also have made friends with fishermen around the world, SteveVon Brandt from America, Steve is a pro bass angler, he also runs and owns S&K Guides, one day i hope to visit Steve.

Mac and Colin from Ireland, we plan to meet up this year, 2005, when we visit Ireland for our fishing holiday, Mac and Colin help run FishingPosts as moderators.
