Cast Disscuss Fans Theories
|
I got this from the very cool comingsoon.net.
They interviewed the stars of 'Lost' while attending the DVD launch party in North Shore of Oahu at the Turtle Bay Resort. They caught each star on the straw carpet to ask what have been their favourite fan theories of the show, here is what they said -
Naveen Andrews (Sayid): The one I warm to most...Have you seen the film "Jacob's Ladder"? Well, I love the idea of it being the last few seconds of someone's life. I like that, that's nice and terrific, I love that.
Yunjin Kim (Sun): I'll tell you what I don't like. Purgatory, I don't like. I don't like to think we are already dead and this is for nothing. Why are we running around away from the monsters, if we're already dead.
Emilie de Ravin (Claire): I've heard this from people, so many different theories as far as Purgatory or we're just all dead. I kind of like personally that we are here for a reason and we're each meant to figure out what that is which will then lead us to a way out or a way back, somewhere, I'm not sure where that is yet(laughing), but we have to be there for some reason.
Terry O'Quinn (Locke): I find I don't even have to try to not have theories, I just don't have them. Because I know if I had them, I'd start thinking about them or I would start investing in the possibility that the one I'm rooting for and I don't want to do that. I just want to see what's going to happen.
Daniel Dae Kim (Jin): I've heard so many, but I think my personal favorite is the "Alien Ant Farm". Yeah, I like that one. I think there's something to that. The fact that there's an outside force that's kind of watching how we interact and trying to build a society. There's something interesting there.
Matthew Fox (Jack): The most obvious thing is the Purgatory thing, it's the most prevalent theory. I really like that theory on a metaphorical sense. I think this show is ultimately going to be about these characters finding a redemption so that they can sort of move on internally and spiritually and individually onto a better place for themselves. But the idea that their all actually dead, I don't like that part.
Maggie Grace (Shannon): (Laughing) Oh, there's some great ones. There's one about nuclear testing and they have a lot of historical backup. People are doing their homework. There's some interesting articles that have hatched and how it is based on reality.
Evangeline Lilly (Kate): You know, someone told me recently, and I can't remember what it was, but I went, "that's really smart, that might be what it is." I can't remember what it is now, and it just drives me crazy. I have my own. I think that the word 'Lost' is a very big metaphor for every single character's mental state of being, psychological, and emotional state of being and we're on this island to be mentally, psychologically, and emotionally found. We were all chosen specifically because we will facilitate that for one another. That's what I think.
Harold Perrineau (Michael): I'd always believed the whole government conspiracy thing was great and then I heard that was the boring choice, but I thought it was really cool (laughing). But that's been my favorite one so far.

Another Miller Adaptation
|
17/08/05
Warner Bros. Pictures is set to produce the adaptation of Frank Miller's graphic novel '300'.
'300' is a story set in ancient Greece, of 300 elite Spartan fighters who were led by King Leonidas and fought to death against King Xerxes' Persian army during the battle of Thermopylae in 481-480 B.C.
Snyder (Dawn of the Dead) and his writing partner, Kurt Johnstad, adapted the screenplay from Miller's graphic novel. Michael Gordon wrote a previous draft. Zach Synder will direct and along with Kurt Johnstad adapt the graphic novel into screenplay.
Gerard Butler will play King Leonidas. Production will begin October 17 in Montreal.
The studio said 300 will rely on hyper-real renderings similar to the stylized illustrations created by Miller for his book.

Freddy Rodriguez, Jeffrey Wright, Bob Balaban, Sarita Choudhury and Mary Beth Hurt have been cast in M. Night Shyamalan's Lady in the Water for Warner Bros. Pictures.
They join stars Paul Giamatti and Bryce Dallas Howard in the dramatic thriller.
In the July 21, 2006 film, a building super (Giamatti) finds a sea nymph (Howard) in his apartment's swimming pool.
Sounds a bit wierd and different to something he would make but I don't doubt he'll make it awsome.

This movie intrigues me by stating that it is a musical comedy but check out the website and it feels like so much more, and seen as it is directed by Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko) I find it hard to believe it is just another comedy.
I'm expecting something completely different to anything else, with an excellent story, a funny cast and an aftertaste of witnessing something beautiful and fresh.
Sarah Michelle Gellar, Seann William Scott, Janeane Garofalo, Ali Larter, Jason Lee, Amy Poehler and Kevin Smith all star in Southland Tales.

It's like the casting people for X-men are trying to upset me, first with the rumours of Nick Stahl (Sin City) playing Angel and now with the casting of Ben Foster (Hostage). I hope they know what they're doing because they did really good casting for the first two films lets hope they aren't losing there touch.
Ben Foster will play Warren Worthington III aka Angel.
