Basic Comic Information:

Webcomic title: The Planet Closest to Heaven

Alternative title: Twisted Flesh

Artist and Author: Jill Fredrickson

Updates: About two times per week. No specific days.

 

Art style: Black and white drawn inked, with charcoal and pencil shading used for tones. Comic style is English read left to right manga panels. The drawing style is a combination of anime/manga style and realistic. I try to use visual story telling instead of explaining dialogue in my art.

 

Genre: Originally I have written this story to be a Magic Fantasy World story then to be more original I rewritten it to be something like a “Horror Shojo/Older teen girl audience mystery manga”(Without the yaoi/shonen ai).

One of the categories for sure is the “person turned into animal” genre. I’ve often been putting this comic often in the “Horror” genre at online webcomic lists yet there isn’t any horror themed monsters (vampires, demons, werewolves etc…) and there isn’t constant killing in this comic. Readers have told me that my comic’s “dark” so maybe that’s perhaps why. There is (alot in fact of) comedy. Some of the comedy is dark humor (but I don’t like gross out humor and sexual humor. So none of that.)

I on purposely tried to stay away from popular story concepts: Vampires, Angels and Demons, RPG Video Games, Yaoi/Shonen Ai, and Elves in Magic Fantasy world stories, (but there is still some magic fantasy concepts in the story. ^ ^;;;)
