The Angel Fowler Wolf Benefit will be held Saturday, October 18, 2008 at Gainesville Leonard park. It will be an all day event from 10 am until 8 pm. There will be live music, food, games with prizes, door prizes and raffles. It will be fun for all ages. Angel is twenty one years old and graduated from Gainesville High School on 2005. Her car accident was on March 2, 2008
in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was a single car accident with no alcohol involved. Angel was driving when she had a blow out and her car hit a telephone pole. Her husband, Nathan and her son, Tieson (pronounced: T-son) were also in the car. Both Nathan and Tieson are doing fine. The telephone pole was actually in the drivers seat when the car stopped. Angel had five surgeries in the first fifteen days of her twenty-three day hospital stay. She had several injuries. Her left lower arm was crushed at the elbow. Her upper left arm had a compound fracture which they later skin grafted. Her left Pelvic area was fractured with several hairline fractures. Her left Femur was fractured and now has a metal rod in it. Even though Angel is doing so much better she did not have insurance at the time of her accident. She has ran up over $220,516.00 in medical bill for the first twenty three days. The family was forced to move because the place they were at was not wheel chair accessible and Angel needed around the clock care. They moved in back home with family in North Texas to help with her care as well as Tieson's. As of June 2008 Angel is now walking much sooner than expected. Since Angel did not have insurance she is trapped in a tough cycle. The family has to make a trip to Corpus Christi about once a month so that she can follow up with doctors at the hospital and receive medical care. With her injuries she can not be released from medical care without a doctor to accept her. As of yet no doctor in this area has accepted her because she does not have insurance. She can not afford a doctor here because she does not have insurance. Her last trip she was told that she needs a CT Scan on the next visit. The scan will show if it is feasible to do another surgery because after all this time her left arm is still broke and not attached at the elbow. Her upper left arm is curving which threatens the skin graft. This is where we need your help! We have scheduled a benefit to raise money for her future tests and surgeries. Any money raised above this cost will go directly to meet her past medical needs and services for doctor visits, x-rays, test and of coarse to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital who provided all of her medical care.

We are contacting local businesses and individuals in hopes of getting volunteers for the fundraiser and/or donations for the activities. Currently we do not have any sponsors. Do you know someone who would want to help provide prizes for the games, door giveaways or raffles? Do you know someone who would volunteer their time doing face painting? Do you know someone who can donate one hour of your time on Saturday, October 18, 2008 that could help by handling the operation of a game or making sure someone who is running a game has enough help? You can help by just handing out flyers or just letting your friend and family know about the event. Anything is greatly appreciated.
