ABOUT Andre - THE PAINTER
AUGUST 2009. Hello Everyone. Many people are asking why I have not updated my web site. The reason is this: I am loathe to use the electricity and all the technical equipment that it takes to share on the internet. As I am only one person, I want to use less resources not more. If you would like to see my latest work, drop into my gallery and I will turn my lights on for you or give you a showing in natural light outside! My work is only available through me (I am no longer with any other galleries). Seems old fashion? Maybe.
ANDRE IS A NAIVE PAINTER, selfschooled in fine art. His images are rich and colourful, surprisingly honest and reflect his daily experiences. "I only took one painting class. The instructor gave us a ruler and told us to lay out 1 inch of white paint, 3/4 inch of blue paint, 1/2 of yellow paint....i didn't stay to find out about the red paint - I love RED way to much !"- Andre

Judith Varney Burch has been involved with exhibiting and selling art for over 15 years and working with museums for 35 years. On April 1, 1999 she gave the address on Inuit art during the Nunavut Celebration Symposium at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington and was the study guide for the Smithsonian's Arctic Cruise of 2000 and 2002. She has curated many Inuit exhibitions at universities and museums. As a recipient of numerous grants, she has travelled extensively and frequently in the Canadian Arctic, fostering many strong individual connections with Inuit people. Her interest in socio-cultural education about the North has included university classes in the gallery, responsibilities for the art workshop of International Inuit Studies conferences, and being a part of the Arctic section at the American Association for Canadian Studies. Judy continues to curate the Inuit art exhibitions at the Canadian Embassy in Washington, DC.
