I am planning to post selected images of my recent one-month China trip from March 18 to April 18, 2006 here.
The map below shows the itinerary starting from Hong Kong. The dark red lines show the route taken. All independent travel except for tour of Guilin. The train journeys were from Shanghai to Suzhou to Nanjing and thence the long overnighter to Xi'an. The outline itinerary is:

Hong Kong <-> Guilin + Li River + Yangshuo tour package; Day trip to Macau
Hong Kong -> Shanghai -> day trip to Hangzhou
Shanghai -> Suzhou -> day trip to water town of Tongli
Suzhou -> Nanjing -> Xi'an -> Beijing
Currently the first page is Part 3 (chronologically) of the trip on the famous landscape and views of Guilin in Guangxi province.
The second one Part 4 is Hangzhou, the famed capital of Zhejiang province famous for its picturesque West lake (Xi Hu), the selected pictures taken on a day trip from Shanghai (about a couple of hours by mini-bus).
