Vikings

The Viking law court was called the Thing. It was a meeting of local people held every year, and normally lasted for several days. Any freeman who had a complaint or an argument to settle could speak at the thing. His neighbors would listen to his complaint or to both sides of a disagreement, and them decide judgement. A person refusing to obey the Thing's verdict became am outlaw, anyone could kill them.

When the Vikings sailed overseas in their long ships, they were ready to kill and plunder. They went in search of trade and new lands in which to make their homes.
