Perhaps the saddest aspect of the entire Anderson debacle is that the real Grand Duchess Anastasia has been lost in the jumble. Too often, whenever Anastasia's name is mentioned, Anna Anderson comes to mind. Sadly, there are still people who believe the old eccentric woman who died in Charlottesville, VA in 1984 was Anastasia, who had escaped the massacre and lived to a ripe old age.

Anastasia, already the victim of a tragic murder, has also become a victim of identity theft! It's wrong that a cute, funny, athletic, artistic young girl who was tragically cut down at only 17 is not remembered for herself, but for an imposter who tried to use her name and identity for fame and financial gain. Anastasia was a real person who deserves her own tribute.
