Alfred Holds a Licentiate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science Education from Universidade Pedagogica Enrique José Varona,
Whilst coordinating the First Mile First Inch project entitled “Rural Connectivity to Support distance Education in the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique”, Alfred researched learning management Systems like Sakai,Docebo, ATutor and Moodle among others. With this research Alfred developed Interest in the selection, design, implementation, scaling and replicating an ICT solution in an African context especially looking at the Mozambican scenario.
His major duties at ISHT Quelimane involves collaborating with the IT manager of the whole University in the strategic planning of the use of the ICTs in the institution, creating applications to be used at the institution, training users, managing intranet and making sure that the ICTs respond to the vision and mission of ISPU. Lectures in most programming modules in the Information Technology Management degree program.
Alfred has developed an Elearning platform to promote the uptake of sciences in secondary schools in the Zambezia province. The application mainly used is Moodle as a content management system for ISHT, Quelimane. Alfred has also explored the use of low cost ICT platforms for the uptake of sciences in the Zambezia secondary schools.
