==== Frequently Asked Questions ====

==== Can I Use Your Art On My Webpage? ====

Yes, provided it is a non profit website and you do not use any images which are copyrighted to third partys, however on any page which you do so you must place a ŠAmy Letts. I would also appreciate a link back to this site. If you must resize the images please do it proportionately otherwise you are distorting my artwork and not showing it as it is meant to be seen. Also do not link directly from the images on this site, copy them to your hard drive and upload it onto your own server.

==== Can I Use Your Art For Other Purposes? ====

Provided it is non-profit or for your own personal enjoyment, yes. Otherwise you must contact me to discuss it.

====Can I Put A Link To 'The Art Oddity' On My Site? ====

Yes! I'd be absolutely delighted if you linked to me. I even have a banner you can use.

==== Do You Take Commissions? ====

Yes. If you are interested in commissions go here.

==== Can You Do A Drawing/Painting From A Photograph? ====

I probably keep getting asked this because most of my work is from my own imagination. The answer is yes, usually very easily. I just find it a rather unchallenging thing to do all the time.

==== Do You Go To Oxford Brookes University? ====

Yes, and somehow I keep running into Brookes students online who are absolutely astonished I go there too. The world is smaller than we think...

==== How Did You Get The Knickname Amulett? ====

It's an amalgam of my first and last name 'Amy' and 'Letts.' I was inspired by the Douglas Adams character Trisha McMillan who had the knickname Trillian, so I used it for one of my FRP characters. I started using it online and it kind of stuck.

==== What FRP Do You Play? ====

I'm a die-hard seccond edition D&D player.

==== Why Did You Call This Site 'The Art Oddity'? ====

Because the name is similar to my other website 'The Art Odyssey.' Also I am personally rather odd so it seemed apt.

==== What is 'The Art Odyssey'? ====

Put frankly The Art Odyssey is a mongrel art website with delusions of grandeur. So rather than tell you what it is I'll tell you about what it aspires to be.
Aspiration. It's a good place to begin. Most Artists begin with the aspiration to create and that, as it happened, is where I began. It is that experience and the others I have acquired along my own journey that lead me here. Being an Artist is hard, especially if you are tormented by your Muse and want to give your life to it. What makes it easier and fulfilling are the people you share it with. I have an important belief system that art is meant to be shared.
The Odyssey is my attempt to share art with others and help others to do the same, therefore becoming better artists together. We all need others to give us advice and critiques, and there is no one better qualified for the job than a fellow Artist.
The Odyssey aspires to be an Artists community and gallery showcasing the works of aspiring artists, writers and musicians. It aims to help them in every way that it can and the best of these means is co-operation.
Of course, another important aspect of art is that it be enjoyed, so I hope people do that as well.

==== You Have A Muse? What!? How?====

Yes I have a Muse. I found him in Oxford and he is largely responsible for my taking an Art Degree and dedicating my life to Art. He is non-corporeal, I see him on occassion and feel his effects frequently. He is very powerful and good at his job. Unfortunately he is also egocentric, insensitive and selfish.

==== How Do You Make Your Webcomic 'Real Realms'?====

Real Realms is essentially hand drawn in pencil, after which I scan it into my computer. There I tint the images and play about with the individual frames in Photoshop until they are possitioned the way I want. I use the 'eliptical marquee' tool to add the speach bubbles. I usually have the dialogue planned in advance and I just type it in. Then I save the file as a jpeg and move it to Paint to add the finishing touches - the tales of the speach bubbles.

==== Do You Believe In Faeries? ====

Yes.
