Our poor Jess is suffering. After Major passed over she suddenly went downhill and suffered from shock, this produced an immune system dip and her body decided to try and detox of all the chemicals and toxins stored up from the years of vaccines,booster,anti-biotics,flea collars, commercial wormers etc. etc. that we gave her before realising how bad they all are :o(
I took her to the vet first, not knowing what it was - it just looked like her inner back legs were very pink and rawlooking and excessively hot. The vet said it looked like it was infected and gave us some anti-biotics and we gave her those and they helped for two wks until it returned. I then spoke with a good friend, who has used homeopathy for 10yrs and she told me that the rash and how it was presenting were the classical signs for vaccinosis and chemical/toxin detoxing.
This was when I turned to holistic, and then Homeopathic support, and found out sooo much. She is being supported homeopathically now, and helped as much as possible, but is not comfortable and won't be until her body is happy it has detoxed enough to stop.
This will be a long, slow road for Jess. She has some sores, her coat has thinned out, her apetite not good - we will do all we can to help her but please, please donot put allopathic [conventional] medicene into your pets unless you have explored kinder methods like homeopathy and find no alternative. There are alternative for anti-biotics and most things apart from anaesthetic and surgery - but even then you can support their system with homeopathy to minimise damage. Just think, not all of these toxins and chemicals leave the system, and those that the liver cannot deal with build up and up and up - a ticking bomb !
We have got two greyhound coats for Jess so she doesn't catch a chill and can still enjoy her walks. The detoxing is spreading throughout her body and the pattern so far [which is following exactly the same route as other dogs who have detoxed ] is:
1st - the area goes pinker/red and looks sore and is v. hot
2nd - itching starts and the hair either thins or all comes out, the skin sheds
3rd - the heat and colour settles and the skin goes dark grey as the toxins come to the surface to come out
This was Jess before it all happened - what a beauty eh !

I certainly hope this is shocking enough to make you think twice before putting chemicals and conventional medicene into your dogs, aswell as commercial flea and worm treatments - there are safe and natural alternatives for 95% of everything you'll ever need for your dog and believe me, you don't want this for your pet - it is heartbreaking and very stressful and upsetting, and it's horrible for your pet to go through.
A few people have misunderstood and thought that we have given Jess stuff to make her body detox - I would like to be very clear on this; I would not detox a dog of this age by choice - ever.
I have detoxed Holly, this took about a month and she had no signs but a couple of tiny sores on her belly.
Jess's body decided on this, and the remedies we are giving her [which are working v. well] are supporting her system and vital organs to help her through this difficult time.
Without the homoeopathic remedies she is having at this time she would probably be dead already from shock, strain and infection to her system and vital organs.
