I have bike rally pictures and videos. Just getting started will be adding more stuff soon. Please sign my guest book while you are here. Will be blogging too, with story and articles about whatever I am doing or did at rallies and such.
Just got a Canon Rebel 400D camera and I am trying to learn to use it effectively. I have always had an interest in photography, just never pursued it. I always had an interest in writing as well. I use to do a lot of writing years ago. Been trying to find the flare for it that I use to have. It has been a long time since I have done any creative writing.
I have had an article published, it is in the November issue of Thunder Roads Alabama version of the magazine. I t is about a fundraiser that I helped with and attended. Sorry that I can not display it on my website, but copywright issues stop me. http://www.thunderroadsalabama.com will get you to their website there you can download this months magazine and view it with adobe reader. I went to the Bama Bikefest Fall Rally in Forkland, Alabama. I had a blast. I took a good bit of pictures but not as many as I would have liked to but I went to party and that is what I did. Some of the photos are in my photo Gallery here and one short video on my video page. I think they should have called it the Bama Boob Fest. Beads for boob shots. It got pretty chilly at night but that didn’t slow anyone down. Women running around topless everywhere. They had the traditional biker games. Slow race and such. They had a wheel of dirty deeds if you spun the wheel you had to do what it landed on. It seemed there was more get naked’s than anything and I think the wheel was weighted so it would land there a lot.
I also went to the Angel Ride in Fairhope, Alabama. The ride consisted of between 3500 to 4000 bikes in the ride! Wet Willie, The Marshal Tucker Band, Mustang Sally and Gary Allen provided musical entertainment. I really enjoyed Mustang Sally. I had a hard time finding this event following the google directions link from their site. I bought 6 raffle tickets for $50 and paid with a $100 and was not given my change back!
So there were some stressful moments that weekend. My Fujifilm sf1000 got a scratch on the lens and I didn’t take but a couple pictures there. Now if I can just learn to operate the Canon Rebel I will be happy!
I want to learn photography and maybe even make a little money at it. I am 41. Yeah, so I am a late bloomer. I need a different lens than the standard 18-55mm to do well. I don’t have much time at present to devote to the cause. I work 3-11 and some 11-7’s to get a little money to go to events and such. When not working at my paying job I am part owner of a motorcycle repair shop so I have to run errands and do paperwork for the business which is just carrying it’s own bills and any real profit goes back into it. So there isn’t much time left to work on my website, or play with my camera. I get stuck working most weekends and that cuts into me getting to go to events> I only work my paying job four days a week so I really don’t make that much money either. Hopefully I can find more time for photography and article writing in the coming months. I am big on charity events and want to participate in as many as possible. Hopefully I will have my website full of pictures, videos and blog articles before long. Now if I can just generate traffic to my site. Traffic interested in my site not just people clicking through to get credits for their own advertising.
