Our Family

This year started off very nicely.   We quietly welcomed the New Year while on a ski trip with good friends.  It was the perfect way to reflect on the past years and humbly enter another year with the blessing of life.

As it got colder, I began to hibernate for the first time in my life.  I enjoy staying home with my baby cubs. However, spring will be here and we won't be able to hibernate anymore. Everyone will be ready to release all the energy and growth we have been storing up during these winter months.

Amina will be leaving toddlerhood soon!  In a few months, she'll turn six and have one last summer before the real world begins for her...First Grade!  Ibrahim is also starting preschool in the fall and I feel like Muhammad is only a few steps behind.  Needless to say, this will be one emotional summer as my babies are no longer babies anymore.  Yet, I'm very excited to see what awaits us around the corner! 

Please welcome Muhammad Hashim Mokhtarzada to our family!  Muhammad weighs 7 pounds 14 ounces and is 21 inches long and delivered at home.

Mother and baby are doing very well.  The labor was relatively short (only about 8 hours) and the most intense of all the children (save the best for last, I guess)!  Everyone is adjusting to the new member of the family.  Amina still wants to pretend mommy's pregnant and had to adjust to the reality that it really is another boy. Ibrahim thinks Muhammad is amusing.  He points to him says "baby", but quickly moves on to something more interesting.

Ibrahim Saleh Mokhtarzada was born Monday, October 30th at 3:10 in our home. Ibrahim was born after only 10 hours of a smooth and relaxed labor. (If you recall, Amina's labor was 28 hours long!!)  Ibrahim was surrounded by the love of his family immediately after birth. It was a wonderful experience for everyone!  Amina is doing very well as she adjusts to having another munchkin around the house.  She is taking her responsibilty as the big girl of the house and taking care of everyone.

We are happy to announce that there will be a new addition to the Mokhtarzada clan.  I am happily 8 weeks pregnant!  Amina should be expecting a new baby brother or sister at the end of October/early November. 

For all of those people, both friends and family, who figured us out a while ago, we must also admit that you were right all along!  My motherly glow must have tipped everyone off!   Or perhaps it was my increased appettite, since I can only talk and think about the next yummy meal!!

We are so happy to share the news with everyone!  It's no longer a secret, so feel free to spread the news!!

We had a little shopping spree yesterday and Amina doesn't even know all the wonderful joys her mommy now has!

I got her a harmonica!  We will now have beautiful music throughout the home!  We also got some play-do. Apparently, I've been holding out on Amina thinking she was too young to play with that. But her other friends has it, and so I'm sure she will have a blast squishing it in her little fingers.

Her Auntie Zion adopted Amina's first Cabbage Patch Kid doll yesterday. I debated with Zion that it wasn't Waldorf friendly, but she insisted and helped Amina choose a doll. I wasn't pleased that the doll had purple eyes, so instead I showed Amina another doll, which she loved instantly. Amina new baby, Hajar, came along everywhere yesterday! She's a great addition to the family.

Lastly, we got a little play house! I can only imagine the amount of fun we will have playing in there tomorrow! It is quite girly, but I just couldn't resist. It has shear drapes, a door that opens, and a little window on the side. Needless to say, we will have great fun!

We are snowed in!! The streets are white with fresh snow. There's probably 4 inches on the ground and more is on the way!  We have had a wonderful fire burning all day and we'll definately have some hot chocolate before the night is over.

Although this is wonderful, I can't wait until Spring. I'm so jealous of my brother who is enjoying one sunny day after another....

I am excited to be inviting everyone to my friends list!  Not sure how to use this quite yet, but I'm getting a hang of it!
