-founder and first instructor of the Amherst Judo Club.

-started judo in 1964 in Germany, returned to Canada in 1965.
-1965-1968 recieved his yellow to green belts in NB.
-moved to Amherst and started the Amherst Judo Club, and on Sat May 9.1970 the first class was held.
-recieved blue and brown belts from NS BBA( Nova Scotia Black Belt Association).
-Entered Mount A. University in 1973 and started a club there. Taught both clubs untill 1977.
-in 1976 recieved Shodan from Judo NB.
-1976-1977 NB provincial coach.
-also was one of the two National Councillors for Judo NB.
-in 1977 moved to Ontario and joined University of Wetern Ontario`s judo club and taught there untill 1983. Hans was unfortunately forced to retire from judo after a serious neck/shoulder injury.
