 June 25-29, 2007

The American Orthopsychiatric Association is pleased to join the Cape Cod Institute for its 2nd exciting summer symposium. Besides providing ample time for discussions, the program will feature lectures by nationally and internationally known speakers on a wide range of topics including intimate partner violence, assessing psychological trauma and PTSD, emergency psychosocial responses during disasters, effective violence prevention strategies for schools and communities, practical strategies for treating survivors of trauma and violence, and more.  Continuing education credit (15 hours) will be available.

Trauma and violence have become public health problems and mental professionals in community clinics, mental health centers, schools, private practice, hospitals, and prisons must know how to handle this growing problem that reaches all ages and races.  The participant in this symposium will leave with new information and a broadened understanding of how to assist clients who have been exposed to trauma and violence. Most of the speakers have published widely, and their books will be available for purchase on site.

Though you do not have to be an Ortho member to attend the symposium, Ortho members who attend will receive 20% off of the regular registration price.  Join Ortho now and qualify for the reduced registration fee!  To register for the symposium, click HERE
