1 December, 2004

We're officially up to 10 members!  We've hit the double digits after only being a club since September.  We have a link now on Eddie Stakes website, http://www.planethoustonamx.com in his vendors section.  We are also listed in Hemmings website under AMC clubs.  I never heard back from Southern Rides.  I just sent them another email today hoping to be listed in their magazine.

I have also emailed Southern Classic AMO about the possiblity of a get together this spring but they have not even responded to my efforts.  I hope to hear from someone soon.

Other than that, not much to report!  I hope you all had a GREAT Thanksgiving holiday!

19 November, 2004

Hello everyone!  We're now up to officially 9 people!  This is without much advertisement.  I'm EXTREMELY happy that we have made it to this point.  Even though we have not had a meet or a get together of any sort, I do think that we can REALLY make a go of it!  We're at almost half the size of the AMO club out of the Eastern Side of Tennessee.  I am going to try to email them again shortly to see if they want to do a meet in the Spring of 2005.

There is the BIG AMO show in Atlanta July 21-23, 2005.  I am hoping to attend.  If anyone is insterested in going to this, maybe we can get a caravan of some sort together for it.

Other than that, it looks like I will have a little money soon to put an ad in the local paper for our club.  So maybe new members soon!

Other than that, not much to report.  I hope that each and every one of you and your families have a good Thanksgiving!

20 Oct, 2004

As of late there is not much to report.  Due to lack of funds on the homefront, I have not been able to post an add in the local paper to try to increase membership.  That will hopefully come shortly.

I did not attend the Mid-South Mopar meet.  It was rainy that day and quite miserable out to say the least.  I hope the Mopar guys had a good showing.

There is a car show at AutoZone on Summer Ave in Memphis this coming Saturday from 10am - 2pm if anyone is interested.  It is a free show.  I can afford to go to that one so I'll be there.

I'm going to say that the next few months will be really slow for updates as winter is hitting and most people are putting their cars away.  If anyone has anything they would like for me to add to the website, feel free to email me and I'll post it.  I would like to get input and ideas for a possible AMC meet for us next year.  Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!

Check back soon for more updates!

29 Sept, 2004

Hi everyone!  Unfortunately, there's not much to report.  I attended a car show this past weekend at Faith Baptist Church in Bartlett.  It was a free car show.  There was probably around 75 cars.  Of course, I took my Javelin.  Granted, it doesn't look the best, but, I showed it none the less.   The unfortunately part was that even though I sat by the tail of my car for 4 hours, noone talked to me or even really looked at the car.  That is why I am urging each and every one of you to go show your cars at the local shows.  :)

I will be finding my way over to the Bartlett Festival Car Show this Saturday.  If you would like to join me, please email me at mserpe@midsouth.rr.com

Thursday, the 31st, night I will be going to Test & Tune night at Midsouth Motor Sports Park.  If anyone wants to meet up, I will be there about 6pm.

If anyone has anything they would like posted, visit the message forum or email it to me and I will post it here.  I'm hoping that we can all participate and get this club off to a good start.  Maybe even plan a few get togethers next spring and summer.

13 Sept, 2004

Well, with our club being started just 13 days ago we now have a total of 5 members.  We have a few more people interested in joining the club as well.  I'm really happy with the way this is turning out.

I put up the dates today to a few more car shows.  One big one for 2005 is the Blue Suede Cruise in Tupleo, MS.  It's a big show that I hope we can all meet up at.

I was also emailed today by Les Moore of Mid-South Mopars that was at a local show this weekend and met a guy from Jackson, TN,  that owns some AMC's.  I will hopefully be in contact with him very shortly and if all goes well, get him to join our club.  Them Mopar guys are helping us out!

9 Sept, 2004

Last night I emailed Les Moore of Mid-South Mopars and he got right back to me.  He said that it shouldn't be a problem putting a posterboard on my Javelin during the show to advertise our club.  So, off to the store to make up a posterboard.  I will also HOPEFULLY have business cards by then for interested members.  I am also going to be bringing registration forms and if time allows, make up a book with a few facts on AMC, such as, they made their own engines, etc.

I found out that Bartlett is having a Festival and Car show at Freeman Park in Bartlett.  Another event I'm going to work on making it to.  Never know what kind of leads we're gonna pick up from showing off our cars.  So I encourage all of you to at least join me at the meets if you can make it.

Also, the 2nd Thrusday of each month, the Sonic in Collierville has a cruise night.  I won't be bringing my Javelin this week as it is awaiting a part, but, I'll be going anyways to check out the cars and just maybe, I'll see another AMC.  :)

That's all for now!

6 Sept, 2004 I hope you're having a great Labor Day!

Over the weekend I contacted Hemmings to get our club put into their Car Club section.  I also listed us on another website.  On top of doing that, I contacted the local Mid-South Mopar club.  Les Moore, the club president and I have been emailing back and forth.  He has given me all the information that I need for us on the Mopar show.  We are invited to go and show off our AMC's, no matter what shape they are in.  I plan on bringing my Javelin.  He is also trying to get club approval on whether or not I can advertise our club at the meet.  I made it clear to him that we are not looking to taking away from his club and only looking for AMCers.  Since I am on a limited budget, I will just print up some AMC information, put it in a binder and make up a nice looking posterboard saying something along the lines of "AMC of Memphis".  From there, anyone that has an AMC will probably inquire for more information.  So we shall see what happens.  I will be placing an ad in next week Sundays Commercial Appeal advertising our club.  I have not heard back from Southern Rides yet, but I am hoping that they will give me a call or at least email me letting me know that they will or will not put us in their paper.

That's all I have for now!  Oh, one last thing, I will be getting some business cards made up for myself in the next few weeks.  So if anyone would like some to hand out or put on peoples windshields if they run into another AMC, please feel free to contact me.

Sept 2, 2004

As of today I have added all the parts links I have in the AMC Parts Links section.  If you happen to have any, PLEASE email them to me and I will add them.  We need all the help we can get!

I will also be soon adding a page with links to all the websites I have with 'how-to' articles.  After I get it up, if you have any that are helpful, please email them to me.

We also have a new member!  Yippie!  We are now up to 4 members.

Today I also wrote an email to the editors of Southern Rides magainze to see if they would put a link to the AMC of Memphis website.  HOPEFULLY, we can get a little publicity and get some more people to join or little club!

Sept 1, 2004

As of today we have 3 'official' members of our club.   You can check out information on them on by clicking the members link on the left side of the screen.

We also have a new forum for AMC of Memphis members only!  I'm still working on it so please have patience with me.  I'm not new to the web thing but a little rust.  Please feel free to post whatever you'd like on the board.
