About Ambit Theatre Company:

• Ambit = a sphere of action, expression or influence
• Sphere = a field of action, influence
• Expression = conveying of feeling
• Influence = effect a person or thing has on another

Ambit Theatre Company Goals:

• Create theatre that give voice to individuals and communities that need to be heard
• Explore the ritualistic core of theatre
• Collaborate with artists from other media
• Encourage women as actors, directors, stage managers and designers
• Influence young women in developing their creative process
• Benefit the community by sponsoring fund raising performances

Ambit Theatre Company was established in 1999 to create theater that makes a difference; not only to the women it encourages as actors, directors, writers and designers but to the larger community by sponsoring fund raising performances for local non-profits already making a difference. "The Rape Poems" benefited San Francisco Women Against Rape. "Dimly Perceived Threats to the System" benefited Hamilton Family Center.
