An Angel for an Angel I was invited along to the baby shower and it looked like the new mother liked the gift. The customer later contacted me and told me that the mother had thought that the blanket was store bought because of how well it was made. I'm going to take that comment as a compliment because it must mean I did a good job on the blanket. Congrats to the new mom, grandma and of course, welcome to the world little Lauren (Sept 11, 2008). Finished Projects will be posted soon: I have been working on Christmas gifts for my family (I received that wool in the mail and didn't have to dig it out) and I have some new completed project images to add however my digital camera USB cord is missing so those will be added as soon as it reappears. I have made a kitchen set which includes a dish/hand towel (the kind that folds over the oven handle with a button), dish clothes and a plastic bag caddy. I've also started an accessory line including a trendy but practical belt featuring a small pocket that can fit a cell phone, debit/credit card and a key to your house or apartment. This belt is for when you don't feel like carrying a purse, when you jeans are tight and using a pocket isn't comfortable and/or you have no pockets. I've also completed a large patch baby blanket using pink and white squares. More knitted accessories on the way as well as (I hope) more spring/summer fashions.
A customer contacted me and asked me to make a blanket for her. I played with a few different pattern ideas when I saw this darling pattern online. I showed it to the customer and she was delighted. It was to be white with a shell edging and to make it perfect for a little angel was the pink ribbon that was to be weaved into the blanket between the main section and the shell edging. To my own disappointment the edging portion of the pattern was not correct. I went to the customer and apologized and explained what I thought would be a great way to finish the blanket in a very similar fashion to the original pattern. I still got that beautiful pink ribbon weaved into the blanket but there was a ruffle edging rather than a shell. In the end I personally felt the ruffles were nicer than the shell was. The customer also requested a catipiller and that was made in 5 sections (yellow, orange, purple, blue and pink). I also decided to throw in an angel teddy I had made earlier.
