Amazing Grey

Sharing our other members of our family ;o)

Usually alot of focus is on the birds, so I would like an opportunity to share our 'other' members of our home that aren't feathered.

Visit here to learn more about our furried animals and their progress.

I would also like to take an opportunity to remind owners to..

HAVE IDENTIFICATION ON ALL THEIR PETS!!

Meet Ms. Kitty

Ms. Kitty is a stray cat found camping out around our house.

She was very hungry and wouldn't leave. I waited to see if she would be able to find her way back home, then the cold came so we had to take action for this kitty. We brought her in and fed her, got her some supplies, called shelters/rescues, placed ads in the newspaper, radio, and flyers. I've called and emailed vets, also put an ad in petfinder to help find her way back home.

We've had our local shelter scan her for a microchip and determine sex. Kitty was for sure MS. KITTY and unfortunately, she had no chip to tell us where she belongs. I've had one possible match, but come to find out that it wasn't this persons lost cat. We are still dilligently looking for her home, someone had to love her and care for her, but if her home isn't found........what becomes of Ms. Kitty??

I've considered possibly fostering to see if someone else out there would adopt her, but the more she stays in our home, the kids and myself are finding it hard to say that she needs to go. Will she become a part of our family? We'll see I guess......I'm all for it!!

More pictures to come.......

Miss Kitty has found her home!

Last night I got a call from someone who saw the flyer of Ms. Kitty. They were giving the exact description and seemed to be a match. The man showed up shortly after the call and did say this was their cat they've been missing for 3 months!

So, she's technically been missing for 2 months since we've had her for one. I also was told she has a home with 3 other cats and a couple dogs, so that explains why she was so laid back with other animals. I guess they previously got her from a deaf lady, kitty had to make adjustments after being in a home with no noise. She's about 8 yrs old.

I was very happy that she found her home, but also sad that I lost a potential buddy

We gave advise on having a collar & tag and also microchipping, stressing that a cat like her who is declawed needs to find their home quicker. He agreed and mentioned they had a collar for her.....

So suffice to say I'm very sad. I hope they give her a good home and is loved. Not to mention I hope they are more careful with ID'ing her and not letting her get out. I'm bummed, but at least it's a happy ending for them and her.

Bye my sweet Ms. Kitty

We won't forget you Miss Kitty!

Here are a few pics taken while Miss Kitty was in our home.

As you can see here, she made herself at home ;op

Bear was always by her side..checking her out. She was so sweet to put up with him.

Meet Bear!

Bear is a full blood Rottweiler. He came to our home in June at the age of 8wks old.

Bear is now almost 8 months old, and guessing he weighs about 80-85 lbs.
