The Amateur Angler

A day on the lake beats any day @ work!

My Bio

I am Justin Fisher Amateur Angler in the Central Texas area.  Growing up as a kid my dad took a lot of time away from work to take my brother and I fishing.  Whether it was rain, wind, sleet, hail, or drought he always made the time fun and we caught a lot of fish.  My dad taught me everything I know about fishing.  We used to make some crazy homeade bass lures but you know what they actually worked.  My dad bought me my first bass boat in 1998 when I graduated out of high school.  It was a 1981 Glastron bass edition with a 1981 175 hp Evinrude V6.  Man I spent a lot of time on this boat.  We made trips everywhere fishing Amateur tournaments here and there.  Fishing became hard to do after having my kids.  I had to work much more and lost time on the lake.  Not until last year I hadn't been on a lake fishing in about 5-6 yrs.  I recently bought a 1995 Skeeter with a 200 hp Mercury and boy does it get me to the spot.  I have since then started entering in Amateur Tournaments around the Austin area.  I currently fish the Fishers of Men National Tournament Trail Central Texas region with a great partner of mine.  Trail is going well and we have managed to win one of the tournaments on Lake Buchanan so far.  Really some great people in the FOM Tournament Trail.  I am going to start expanding my tournament entries and try to fish other tournaments around the area.  I live in Kyle,TX with my wonderfull and fully supportive girlfriend Kelley.  Although she doesn't quite fully understand the concept she supports me everytime I go to fish a tournament.
