Biography for
Mandy Moore (II)

Birth name
Amanda Leigh Moore
Height
5' 10" (1.78 m)
Mini biography

Amanda Leigh Moore was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, on April 10, 1984 to Don (an airline pilot) and Stacy (a former news reporter). After seeing the musical "Oklahoma!", she decided that she wanted to pursue a career in singing. As a child, she performed the National Anthem at several athletic events around her hometown of Orlando, Florida, and became known as the "National Anthem girl".

At the ripe age of 14, while she was recording in a studio in Orlando, a Fed-Ex worker who happened to be passing through heard her and was interested in her talent. He happened to know someone at Sony as well. Moore worked on cutting a demo and shortly thereafter signed a record deal with Sony 550 Music. At 15, her first record "So Real" was released. Her first tour was with the Backstreet Boys.

As her touring and recording schedule demanded more of her time, Moore withdrew from Bishop Moore Catholic High School in Orlando and opted for a tutor/correspondence. She has stated that her education is important to her and says that the fact that she wants to go to college motivates her to continue with her schooling.

Though Moore's record sales are not up in the ranks of Britney Spears or Christina Aguilera, she has proved to be a formidable talent both in singing and in acting. She snagged an MTV Movie Award in June 2002 for her first feature film role in A Walk to Remember (2002) and has two other films coming out in the following year. Her biggest dream, though, is to perform on Broadway someday.

Lindsay Lohan

Birth name
Lindsay Morgan Lohan
Nickname

Height
5' 5" (1.65 m)
Mini biography

Lindsay Morgan Lohan was born in New York City, New York, on 2nd July 1986, to Dina Lohan and Michael Lohan. She began her career at age three as a Ford model, and also made appearances in over sixty television commercials, including spots for The Gap, Pizza Hut, Wendy's, and Jello (opposite Bill Cosby). Lohan made her acting debut in 1996 as the third actress for Ali Fowler in the television drama "Another World" (1964). Shortly after, she was handpicked by Oscar-nominated writer Nancy Meyers as estranged twin sisters in an adaptation by Walt Disney Pictures of a novel by Erich Kästner, which would mark Meyers' directorial debut. Lohan's first feature film, The Parent Trap (1998) was a modest commercial success, earning her widespread critical acclaim, and a Young Artist award for Best Leading Young Actress in a Feature Film, as well as Blockbuster Entertainment and YoungStar award nominations.

After signing a three-movie contract with Disney, she returned to the small screen to star in the made-for-TV movies Life-Size (2000) (TV) (opposite Tyra Banks) and Get a Clue (2002) (TV). She also appeared as Rose in the pilot episode of the short-lived comedy series "Bette" (2000), which starred Bette Midler.

In June 2001, Lohan took a brief hiatus from acting. Her music career was launched over a year later, when Estefan Enterprises made a five-album production deal with her in September 2002.

But Lohan was not turning her back on her blossoming acting career. Just over a month previously, she had been cast opposite Jamie Lee Curtis for another Disney adaptation of a novel, this time of a fantasy comedy by Mary Rodgers. Freaky Friday (2003) was a huge hit (generating over $160 million in worldwide box office receipts), and critics were spellbound by delightful performances from Lohan and Curtis (who went on to receive a Golden Globe nomination for her work). In addition, Lohan won the 2004 MTV Movie Award for Best Breakthrough Female, as well as a Saturn award nomination and another Young Artist award nomination.

Lohan relocated permanently to Los Angeles between projects, and moved into an apartment with fellow actress Raven. She also dated pop star Aaron Carter for a short time.

Lohan's next project, Mean Girls (2004) saw her reunite with Freaky Friday (2003) director Mark S. Waters. Inspired by a non-fiction book by Rosalind Wiseman and written by "Saturday Night Live" (1975) scribe Tina Fey, the high school comedy drama opened to glowing reviews, and grossed $86 million in the U.S. alone. This earned her status as a bankable actress, and a salary of $7.5 million for the upcoming Donald Petrie romantic comedy _Lady Luck (2005)_ .

One of the most sought after young actresses in the industry, she is set to star in two other romantic comedies: Untitled Nick Cannon/Lindsay Lohan Project (2006) (opposite Nick Cannon) and Fashionistas (2005) (based on the novel by Lynn Messina) as well as the high school dramas _Dramarama (2006)_ and Gossip Girl (2005) (based on the novel by Cecily von Ziegesar), and the Disney fantasy adventure Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005) (a pseudo-sequel to The Love Bug (1968)). On top of a thriving film career, Lohan has also been working on her debut album, called "Speak", which will hit shelves in December 2004.

In her spare time, Lohan enjoys swimming, basketball, shopping, singing, reading, writing, gymnastics, collecting Beanie Babies, roller-blading, and playing with her siblings Aliana, Dakota and Michael Lohan.

Forever Alexa Vega - An Alexa Vega Fansite
Girlstart: When did you start acting?
Alexa: I started acting when I was 4 years old. When I moved to California, my mom was working for an agent. It was an agency for adults and it just happened to be God's blessing - she told me, "Why don't you try to audition?" I had never really tried acting before then, and when I did it I got the first audition I ever tried for.

GS: Do you remember the audition?
A: Yeah! I remember everything about it, the whole experience. It was "Evening Shade" and I ended up working on it for two seasons.

GS: Does your family travel with you when you're making a movie?
A: My family usually travels with me everywhere I go. I love it when my family comes because when I'm all alone I don't have my sisters to fight with! No, we really do get along!

GS: How do you balance your schoolwork with acting?
A: Well a lot of people think you don't get a good education because you're on set, but actually most of the time you get a better education because you have a one on one learning experience. You have a teacher there on set. You have to do at least three hours a day of schoolwork on set, and if you can do more. I get a whole lot more than I would at school. It's harder at school because there are so many kids there. But the great thing about going back to the set is that you get the experience of being around kids and then being around adults.

GS: What's your favorite subject?
A: My favorite subject has got to be math! I love math because it's just like a puzzle - it's solving something. You don't ever get tired of it, it's always fun and there's always more to learn. There's more to it than just reading about it. I love reading, but it's a different kind of experience! I'm in algebra now, it's so much fun I love it!

GS: Have you started to think about college yet?
A: Yeah, I have! I wasn't quite sure what I want to study, but I want to go to film school. I have no idea what I want to do when I grow up - there are so many different things. I'm working with the director of Spy Kids, Robert Rodriguez, and he's really incredible because he wears so many hats. He's the director, writer, editor, he shoots the whole thing, he's the production designer… He does everything, he's so great! After that, he's also a dad to three boys, so I'd like to be something kinda like him but be an actor as well. He's everything and he's just incredible.

GS: What advice would you give a girl that wanted to get started in acting?
A: I'd say the number one key to acting is to do it to have fun and not any other reason. That's why I do it, it's just like playing basketball or volleyball - it's a hobby to me. Stay humble, grounded, and don't ever give up! I'll audition every now and then, and sometimes I get it and sometimes I won't. But if you don't get something that doesn't mean you're not good, it just means you're not right for that part. So just keep trying.

GS: What were some of the funny things that happened on the SPY KIDS 2 set?
A: Whenever it was someone's birthday and we had a party on the set, we always had either a silly string fight or a cake fight!

GS: What do you do in your free time when you're not acting?
A: I love reading because I get to use my imagination! Some of my favorite writers are Ronald Dahl, Maya Angelou, and Shakespeare. He's so cool! And of course I read all the Harry Potter books, and the movie was good too! I like that movie.

Alexa VegaAlexa Vega
Spunky child star Alexa Vega shot to fame in 2001 as one of the young secret agents in the 007 spoof Spy Kids. Born on August 27, 1988 in Miami, Alexa spent her early years living on a nearby Florida farm. When she was four, her family relocated to California, where her mother got a job with a talent agency. Inspired by Alexa's precocity, her mother brought her to an audition for Burt Reynolds' TV series Evening Shade -- she landed the two-year gig on her first try.

Alexa worked continuously ever since, landing guest-starring roles on E.R. and Chicago Hope, and appearing in Little Giants (1994) and Nine Months (1995). After portraying a young Helen Hunt in Jan de Bont's Twister (1996), she played Steven Seagal's daughter in The Glimmer Man (1996), Alec Baldwin's daughter in Ghosts of Mississippi (1996), and Michelle Pfeiffer's daughter in The Deep End of the Ocean (1999). Vega returned to series television as Alfred Molina's daughter in CBS' short-lived sitcom Ladies Man, before taking center stage in Spy Kids. Written and directed by Robert Rodriguez, the film followed two preadolescents who must save their secret-agent parents from the grips of a madman bent on destroying the world. Along with co-star Daryl Sabara, Alexa insisted on doing the majority of her own stunts, instantly becoming a hero to kids everywhere. The movie was a box-office smash. Alexa returned a year later for its highly anticipated sequel, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams (2002). A year after that, she returned for the last installment of the Spy Kids trillogy, Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over. She has completed filming on 2 movies, Sleepover and State's Evidence which are sceduled to come out in theaters later this year. While planning to remain an actress, Alexa also hopes to attend film school and become a writer/director.

biography

JoJo -- birth name Joanna Levesque -- was born on December 20, 1990, in Foxboro, Massachusetts. Her father was a blues singer, while her mother, Diana, sang in a church choir. JoJo's parents divorced when she was 4 years old, and she lived with her mother, moving often. By the time of her parents' split, JoJo had already started singing nursery rhymes and pop songs.

When JoJo was 6, she tried out for and performed on Kids Say the Darndest Things, impressing host Bill Cosby with her rendition of "Respect." The exposure got JoJo additional appearances on The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Rosie O'Donnell Show; she went on to sing at a Celtics game and even at the Republican National Convention.

jojo signs with blackground records

But JoJo's early fame had its dark side. Even before hitting it big, it was apparent that her schoolmates were jealous of her talent. "You could see very early on that the girls wanted to be like Joanna," said her first-grade teacher, Julia Haney. But when they couldn't, they got mean, especially once she made it on TV.

Adding to JoJo's childhood woes was her family's financial situation. Her mother Diana made a meager living as a cleaning lady, and the two shared a run-down, one-bedroom apartment. JoJo had to make do with reduced-price lunches, hand-me-down clothes, and shopping at Wal-Mart and Kmart.

In 2002, JoJo performed on TV's America's Most Talented Kids competition. She lost, describing the experience as "terrible," but some good came from it. An audience member, impressed with JoJo's performance, introduced her to producer Vincent Herbert. Herbert signed JoJo to a multi-album deal with Blackground Records.

jojo releases leave (get out)

In the summer of 2003, JoJo began recording her first album, the self-titled JoJo. Having written three of the 14 songs herself, JoJo found singing in the studio to be a different challenge from singing live. Once JoJo was released in June of 2004, the young singer became an instant star. Her single "Leave (Get Out)" reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top 40 -- making JoJo, at 13, the youngest singer with that distinction. She was also nominated for an MTV Video Music Award as Best New Artist (also the youngest ever), and she beat Britney Spears' record as the youngest singer to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

As her album reached gold status, JoJo toured Europe as the opening act for Usher. She also contributed to the Shark Tale soundtrack, performing the song "Secret Love." She played a young Linda Ronstadt on the television show American Dreams, and is currently in negotiations to make her movie debut in Aquamarine alongside Emma Roberts.

JoJo lives in Edgewater, New Jersey, with her mother, who acts as her manager.

     Delta Goodrem Biography

      About Delta Goodrem

Innocent Eyes" Official Biography

It's just the beginning, is something that Delta Goodrem says all the time. But what a beginning - Born To Try, the first single from Delta's debut album, took the Australian charts by storm, going to number one just after Delta's 18th birthday. It stayed in the Top 5 for more than three months, going triple platinum for sales of more than 210,000 copies.

"I love how 'Born To Try' connected with people," Delta says. "I've had all sorts of people come up to me, from all age groups who tell me, 'I play this at home all the time.'"

But Delta's right - it is just the beginning. Now she has delivered 'Innocent Eyes', her stunning debut album. With a voice that soars, this is a young pop discovery, brimming with youthful zest, energy and innocence. And it's an album full of surprises. As Delta sings in 'Running Away': "Running away from predictable, Miss Reliable, so methodical/Be individual, an original". This is no manufactured star straight off the pop production line.

Delta's worked with a stellar cast, including the True North production and songwriting team (Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy), Ric Wake (the producer who has worked with Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez and Mariah Carey), Matthew Gerrard (Mandy Moore, BB Mak), Vince Pizzinga (Midnight Oil, Danielle Spencer), David Nicholas (INXS, Elton John, George), The Rembrandts and Mark Holden.

But this is Delta's story. She's forging her own path, creating her own history. Much of Innocent Eyes sounds like pages ripped from her diary. She wrote or co-wrote nearly all the tracks. The album's striking opening line is, "Doing everything that I believe in".

"Every song holds a significant memory" Delta explains. "wanted to make an album that reflected these times in my life".

Innocent Eyes is an album that heralds the arrival of a major new talent. An artist who's doing things her way. Grounded, focused and ambitious. "In my own time," Delta sings on one of Innocent Eyes' many standout tracks, "it'll be mine."

"Do you remember when you were 15. And the kids at school called you a fool. Because you took the chance to dream?"

Delta Goodrem is no newcomer. She started in the entertainment business at the age of seven, acting in TV commercials and Australian television shows such as Hey Dad, A Country Practice and Police Rescue. Delta loved sports, particularly basketball and skiing, but music is her passion so Delta saved her acting money to make a demo CD.

At the age of 12, Delta recorded her demo CD, with five songs she'd written. She included her version of the Australian national anthem because she dreamed of one day singing at a game for her football team - the Sydney Swans. "Anyone's allowed to dream, I say," Delta says.

Delta sent the CD to the Swans and they sent it on to one of the club's biggest supporters - the legendary Australian manager Glenn Wheatley, the man who guided the Little River Band and John Farnham to mega success. Seeing a red and white envelope in his letterbox, Glenn ripped open the package to find Delta's songs.
Over the next two years, Glenn helped Delta develop her career, before Sony signed her at the age of 15.

Inspired by everything from Silverchair to Incubus to Jeff Buckley and "the Diva Girls" - Mariah and Celine; at first, Delta struggled to find her own direction. Then she discovered her mantra: Just have fun and sing from the heart.

"No point in talking what you should have been. And regretting the things that went on. Life's full of mistakes, destinies and fate. Remove the clouds, look at the bigger picture".

The title-track of Delta's debut album is her story. "I really wanted a song with a bit of a classical feel because I've been doing classical piano for 10 years," she explains. "This song is about looking at the world with innocent eyes, that enthusiasm, which I never want to lose."

In 2002, Delta landed a role on the Australian television institution Neighbours, a show that started on air just a few months after Delta was born. Playing the shy singing schoolgirl Nina Tucker, Delta got to debut Born To Try on the show. Though she's always getting into trouble for singing on the set, Delta says, "Neighbours has been fantastic."

Now, the girl who plays piano barefoot wants to take her music to the world.

"I love performing. I do this so I can get up and sing for people. It's a big world and there's so much to work for. I do have a lot of goals. I want to take my music to people and tell my story, perhaps one day be singing at the Grammys and the Brits and the ARIAs. Just world domination, I'm not asking for much." She laughs, before adding: "It's just the beginning." Delta smiles, those innocent eyes sparkling

I have a little collection of China dolls that I love, and my favourite teddy bear that I've had since I was tiny.

At the moment, I like Darling Harbour in Sydney Australia because I love the views of Sydney Harbour, and of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. We have the best fireworks in the whole world on the bridge!

Australia!  It's so big, and I've only seen parts.  When I did the Indian Pacific train trip across Australia in December 2000, it made me realise just how big our continent is.
There's so much to see here I think you'd need two lifetimes to see it all. Places like the Great Barrier Reef, and the Red Centre, with Uluru are pretty well known because they are so special and so spectacular.  Bondi beach is very famous overseas, but there's thousands more beaches!

There's a whole list of other fabulous parts -The Kimberley in Western Australia,  Kakadu World Heritage Park in the Northern Territory. Tasmania is very different to anywhere else in Australia, and we even have the Snowy Mountains.

And I haven't even mentioned Sydney, which the whole world knows is the best city in the world.

These are photos of Nikki and her friends at a dance studio in Sydney.
