Once upon a time, there was a young women by the name of Mrs. Shrouds of Leeds Point, New Jersey. She had 12 children and when having her 13th she screamed out, "May the Devil take this one!!". When the baby was born, after many many hours of labor, it was deformed. It had the head structure of a collie, the face of a horse, two horns, a tail, bat- like wings spreading up to 4 feet wide, hooves for feet, and arms ending in paws.Well, the baby was so ugly that Mrs. Shrouds kept it locked inside the house. As the child grew, it stayed at four feet tall. Because the child was left alone, it became independant and seeked its revenge on its family by eating them and then flew out the window toward the swamp. The devil continued to reck the woods now known as the Pines. One day, the beast was roaming around and accidently fell into a pitch- black, bottomless puddle, giving him eternal life. The Jersey devil still lurkes in the Pines this very day, taking revenge from inoccent children and their families.
Great story to tell your kids, huh?
