In contrast to the American Dream, there is a life that no one desires.  This is a life rocked with troubling and uncomfortable episodes which no individual chooses to experience.  America’s past has been filled with unfortunate events which have all added to the unique history.  While some of these experiences are embarrassing or upsetting, they each are true to American society.  These are events such as civil and world wars, political assassinations, unjust leaders, presidential scandals, terrorist attacks and villainous foes.
