Saturday 11th July, at 19.30. A joint concert was given with the Alwoodley Singers to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Alwoodley Community Association. It took place in the Alwoodley Community Hall and included lighter music from our repertoire.
2008
We held an open workshop on Sunday March 9th 2008 at Alwoodley. We played Mendelssohn's "Italian Symphony", Chabriere's "Marche Joyeuse" and Schubert's "Rosamunde Overture".
The orchestra performed at Kirkstall Festival on Saturday 12th July 2008. The performance in the nave of the abbey was conducted by Mark Ostyn, who also played the solo part in two movements from Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto. The programme included Lustspiel Overture, Gold and Silver Waltz and other well-loved pieces.
