For many moons, the four warrior Clans walked the paths of the old forest. Generations were born, grew old and died, and were buried in its soil. Great leaders arose. Battles were won and lost. And through it all, StarClan watched over the Clans from among the stars of Silverpelt.
But a great change came. The Twolegs were advancing; their intent, nothing short of the destruction of the entire forest. Therefore, StarClan chose four cats—Brambleclaw, Feathertail, Tawnypelt, and Crowpaw—each from a different Clan, to save all. Together with Feathertail's brother Stormfur and Brambleclaw's Clanmate Squirrelpaw, they set out on a mission—to find what Midnight had to say.
But on their return journey, the questing cats met a different group of cats, the Tribe of Rushing Water. These cats lived and hunted in the mountains . . . and they answered to their own warrior ancestors. These spirits, known as the Tribe of Endless Hunting, prophesied that a silver cat would save them from a ferocious enemy. . . .
The prophesied cat was Feathertail. She, unconcerned about her own danger, saved the Tribe by killing the mountain cat Sharptooth. But destiny is a strange thing. . . . A slight change in events, perhaps the death—or life—of a single cat, can alter destiny's pawsteps in ways that even StarClan cannot foresee. . . . And there were some in StarClan who did not want Feathertail to join their ranks, at least for the time being. They succeeded in keeping her alive—but the decision proved to be unwise indeed. For in giving life to one cat, they unwittingly dealt out death to many others.
Perhaps it would have been better for Feathertail to die in the Tribe's mountain cave. . . . Who can say? For it is not given to anyone to know what might have been. Perhaps the disaster that came could not have been averted by any means—though it is true that StarClan did not foresee it. But when the Clans are decimated, the survivors must learn to cope with the new reality. And even more importantly . . . StarClan, too, has a decision to make—a decision that will affect the lives of cats for uncountable generations to come.
Welcome, whichever Clan you may hail from. I am Runningflame. This site is devoted to my fanfic series—Warriors: An Alternate Destiny. The series actually consists of only one (in-progress) book, known as Cats of All Clans.
Click the link at the top of your screen to read Cats of All Clans. To see updates, credits, and special links, or to leave a comment on the fanfiction, go to the credits/updates/reviews page (formerly found on my personal website, Runningflame's Corner). Browse through the other links on the navigation bar to see lots of other interesting stuff—from first-person introductions from the characters, Secrets of the Clans-style, to the Author's Blog, which, I guess, is sort of my attempt at imitating AuthorTracker. Before you leave, don't forget to leave a note in the guestbook to let me know you were here.
NOTE: Cats of All Clans does contain spoilers for any and all Warriors books up through Starlight, along with a couple of minor spoilers for Secrets of the Clans. Depending on how you look at it, it might soon have spoilers from Sunset, so I'd say you should probably finish TNP before reading this. If you haven't, I am not responsible for any spoilers you may see.
I hope that this new site (and its connections with all the other ones) will be easy to understand and navigate. If you have any problems or confusions, please tell me so in the guestbook. I will do my best to clarify things and/or fix the problem.
The path of destiny takes strange turns . . .
. . . where will it lead you next?
